Coping with Day One

16 years ago 0 45 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I love this post. Rusty I wish I read this when it was my first day. My kids helped me to get through my first day by doing this funny thing. They came up with it after I explained to them what's going to be happening to mommy for the next little while. (My poor children) Anytime I would start figeting with my hands and huffing and puffing they knew I wanted a cig at that moment so they would start jumping and acting funny. Ofcourse I had to join them. I guess what they did for me was to completely take my mind of the cig I wanted so badly. It was great. I'm not saying for everyone to jump up and down and act silly (unless they really want to) but the physical activity and distraction worked. Distract yourself with something else any time you want to smoke. For my mom cleaning worked. (NOT FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!) I'm more of a act silly kind of person and skittles. Lots and lots of skittles. I also made it through my first day yesterday so congrats to those who made it through day 1 also. I am finding that today, the craving is a little worse and also my back is really tight...is that normal?

Yesterday was my hubbies and my first day and guess what, we are still married and didn't kill each other! lol . Thanks for the advice Rusty and another thing that I did that helped me was I got hubby to buy some hard sugar free candies and also some popsicles. I found that popsicles are great and they take some time to eat.. that feeling of cool and refresh just stay in your mouth longer. Hip Hip horray day 1 is over now onward and upward to day 2! Keep on going Susie your one day more than me and we can do it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 28 Amount Saved: $4.20 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 53 Seconds: 55
