Smelling Cigs

18 years ago 0 1127 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Rianne, I'm on day 84 now and I like it when people light a cigaret. I think that smells good. On the other hand, old smoke that I hate. I sell cigarettes at work and when people come into the shop they have this terrible scent arround them. Oh if they even knew how they stink, they would quit smoking immidiatley. Further I'm doing fine. You keep up the good thoughts and good luck. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,128 Amount Saved: 250.75 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 17 Mins: 4 Seconds: 12

Hi Rainne, Im a proffessional quitter!! Done it so many times but never really get to grip with the quit. This time is different...on Zyban...... I have my own bar...on day 1 and 2 and today on day 3, I have to work and you can smoke all over my bar(until next year). Ashtrays are staring, the smell disgusts me but I like it--really weird...but I pulled thro` as I know if Im gonna do it...its gonna be the hard way. Yesterday I went into a bar to watch the football, and it STANK, I mean really stank, the air was thick with smoke, and I could barely breath. For someone that had smoked for 22 years + 30 a day, I hadnt really noticed before. I ended up leaving the bar - and going somewhere else. I thought that I will be glad next year when they ban smoking in clubs and bars in England. Will be good, as the smell of it REALLY made me feel sick. I love the smell of people smoking! I think it was one of the main reasons that i started smoking when i was 16, but i also used to sit on my grand dad's knee while he smoked and hold the ash tray for him! I dont want to smoke now, but still love the smell! Is a strange one kolativey My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 186 Amount Saved: 75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 42 Seconds: 58

Hi everyone. I took a little SSC break, kind of accidentally. Just didn't stop by at all for a little bit. But I'm back, because I wanted to share my one month! w00t! ;) Thank you all for your responses. I'm still struggling with the smell thing. It's weird, I can't stand the smell of cigs on someone's hair or clothes. Customers at work who stink like cigs YUCK. But the lingering scent of it in the air if someone has just put one out....it's still oddly pleasant. I'm glad to hear that this is fairly common. I'm not a weirdo LoL Congrats everyone on your quits. We're all doing so well! shadoww I've been getting the phantom smoke smell lately too. I'll be alone in my car, or out on my balcony, and it'll just hit me, very strong for a few seconds, then go away. It's very disturbing. I think it's the demon playing tricks on me, honestly. Like it can't win me back with regular old cravings, it has to hit me with the smell to tempt me all the time. It's frustrating, but I'm dealing with it My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 516 Amount Saved: $119 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 3 Mins: 52 Seconds: 35

Quick question for all you QUITTERS!!! I've been quit for a little while now, but it still feels so new. When I'm out and about, I often find myself walking through or near a group of smokers. I can smell their cigarettes. And I can't tell whether I'm tempted or repulsed. I feel like I SHOULD be disgusted, but I don't think I am. I think I still kind of "like" the smell of the smoke. Like it's an od familiar scent. I know scent is the strongest memory trigger, so it's not that suprising that the smell is a concern for me right now. How do you all feel about the smell of cigs right now? How does that compare to the beginning of your quit? I get the phantom smell and I also get the taste in my mouth sometimes (especially in the morning). What I think it is is all that tar and junk from your lungs still comming out. I don't think I can always even recognize what it is. I thought my apartment complex was on fire, then I found that it was my upstairs neighbor smoking on his balcony! it really smelled like a fire! (I guess it is a fire, kind of) mama My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 547 Amount Saved: $74.1 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 44 Seconds: 5
