Mind Games

Hi Sally....I thought that was you when your name said Healthy2. The mind games are the worse part of quitting but they do go away. Everyday is one day closer to never feeling this way again. I remember your last quit and you were always here with the rest of us. You know you can do it. Replace those junky thoughts with possitive thoughts about how good you feel now that you are not smoking and remind yourself constantly of what that 100 days felt like. Beyond that, the freedom is unbelieveable. Keep up the great work. I'm glad you are back. I'll help any way I can. Just ask. It has been 3 days for this current and hopefully final quit. I was volunteering at a homeless shelter tonight and was due to leave at 9. At about 7 on, I was having a battle within myself. One part was saying " buy a pack and just smoke again for the weekend. You can quit on Monday ..you deserve one more weekend to relax. Think of all the chores you can get done." The other voice was saying, " Don't buy any cigarettes. Think...you have made it 3 days again. Do you really want to do these 3 days again??" These 2 voices within me continued to argue for the last 2 hours. I did drive straight home (luckily I had no money in my car). I keep reminding myself how great I felt at 100 days...the accomplishment, the physical change within. I will praise myself now for not giving in...for squashing the evil voice within :) ok..3 days down...97 to make that 100 again!!! take care all.. love, sally My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $11.97 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 30 Seconds: 19

ty for all of the needed support :) Lady, you and I stopped at the same time (my first quit) and it makes me kind of sad to see where I could have been had I not smoked! Congratulations to you :) I do know the pitfalls and am going to try my best to avoid them this time around.. bye for now all :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 73 Amount Saved: $11.97 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 10 Seconds: 48

Sally, Good job for not giving in. You have been down this road before so you know where all the potholes are. Here is a favorite quote of mine that really applies here...
