Arwensmom I'm not sure when you quit but you really can't think about how others are doing with their cravings. Everyones' quit is different. I think looking ahead like that can be dangerous. It makes it all seem even harder. Please take it one hour at a time, one day at a time. It is easier that way. Your energy will only increase as each day goes by. I am a high energy person anyway, so I am like the energizer bunny now. LOL. Lots of energy and I'm never out of breathe anymore. It's great. You deserve those things too. You can do this! Stay Strong. Stiff upper lips come in very handy! Harder to hold a ciggie with. We all feel knackered at 1 time or another on this crazy trip. Hi Sally, a little battle won! Lots of little battles win the war! Well done, and I made a point of not carrying money in the beginning. Healthy2, Stay strong - I've a lousy few days to. I'm at four weeks and it really hasn't got any easier.I don't want to smoke any less than I did at d5. I thought those cravings would begin to die down. Be honest what does d100 feel like. Cheers guys, Clearly was having a bad day. I'm a pragmatic brit and so time frames along with stiff upper lips are important to me lol. I am being creative and watching dvd's on my computer in my bedroom - it's a shame to wide a beaut widescreen and home cinema in my living room though... Will keep strong and posting. I'm going to believe that after 3 months in will be better. We'll deal with how I feel in 3 months.....in three months.... You do want to get non-smokers grab them, shake them and shout DON'T SMOKE unless you're clearly INSANE... Thats how this ratty brit feels today...AAHHHH Peter

Redrosie, Well yeah - I'm not going to smoke - I'm fairly good that way but if I thought i'd feel like this for the rest of my life - I'd prefer to smoke! You see I hear stories of people still wanting cigs after 6 months - a year - 2 years. I simply couldn't cope with my life the way it is now for a whole stack longer. I can't really watch DVD downtairs because I used to smoke when I did that. That 'enjoyment' has been taken away now and I can't go back to it because I'm aware of it as a trigger. If I try to watch them I start feeling lousy - I don't want to associate feeling lousy all the time with not smoking because the opposite pyschology is not helpful, happy when smoking. I know everyones quit is different but after d5 I haven't felt a notable change is mood or attitude upwards. I can't do the things I enjoy now because they're too associated with smoking. My quit is good and steady and I won't fall into temptation from here - if I smoke again it will be a conscious decision to do that - if I feel this will be what the next two years is like. I don't think it's also quite good enough to say one day at a time people (me included) need to know that it is not one day at a time for 10 years! If someone told me 6 months fine - I could cope with that - but no one can do that. What FOOLS we were to start this bloody thing in the first place (he smiles)... What a rotten kettle of fish for you, Brubaker, that you happened upon the two or three blokes on the planet that feel just as bad after two years as they did the first week. I, personally, would not believe those crabby asses and might feel they were perhaps raining on my parade. If you take it all too seriously it is just junkie thinking. That is, an excuse to start up again. How about a portable DVD player and you can take it on a bus or somewhere that smoking is not allowed. Sometimes you must be creative. An addiction and not a hobby...that is so funny :) Just don't smoke. I promise it will get easier! :)Stay close, post often and you will be a quitter, too. Just don't smoke. One cig is too many and 1,000 is not enough. All my favorite mantras and hoping one or two will get you thru the tough times!!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 195 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,902 Amount Saved: $975 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 17 Mins: 32 Seconds: 6
