Minnesota,   This is a great time to use the exposure therapy to assist you in this goal.  Session 4 includes a introduction to exposure work and helps you get started.   Step by step you can do this!

I have to eat before I take the bus, and I take water and nuts on the bus ( not me nuts, but i take protein foods, like almonds or trail mix ( without the chocolate) I find it helps me to remain calm,

Georgie,

Gastrointestinal discomfort can be associated to panic attacks and may be one of the reasons that you avoid eating before getting on the bus.

Members, what are your thoughts on eating before doing your exposure exercises?

Lol what have i started ? hehe .

Um the eating thing , well i can say that if i get very full full up then i get very anxious now for some reason , But that might be to do with not eating properly for ages .

ah that made me smile and giggle to myself. i can just imagine myself sitting on the bus visualising a bus full of people with panic attacks going whoooop whooop haha

think i have some bus catching to do this weekend. does anyone else avoid eating near the time they are going to catch the bus? i found that the one time i caught the bus after i had eaten i was more prone to feeling panicky.

hehe..yeah my husband asked me to try take the bus this week by myself, so I need to try.
I will try not to giggle:) I always just chat to the driver, keeps the mind off things.
There is a new store opening up the street from me, I might ride it up there and see if they are hiring yet. Might start applying, I need to get back to work, I think its good for me..even if I do 3 days a week.
