Hi Sparrow,
I'm not sure, but I think the web site Ashley was talking about is https://evolutionhealth.care/index.  It's one of the sister sites listed above on the HELP, other programs tab.
I wish l could press the fast forward button. If you did that, then you would miss out on the struggles and hardships of quitting, that actually make you a stronger individual in life. In my opinion. Keep fighting those urges and try and stay strong. You CAN do this trust me.

That freedom is within sight, just keep going.  The mental part was the most difficult to me as well - at times it felt like there was a little General in my brain shouting commands, and it felt very challenging to ignore him and move on with my day.  For me that was the key, though - MOVING ON WITH MY DAY.  The tough times were when I debated with it, or with myself, or tried to use argument or logic to tamp it down.  It's like I made it angry, lol.  Just ignoring it, as if it was a child throwing a little temper tantrum that had nothing to do with me or my day, made it easier to walk away.  And the good news is that my brain got the message relatively quickly!  Within a couple weeks the little nicotine monster had realized that *I* was in charge now, and the cravings started to quickly dissipate.  Cravings turned into thoughts instead, which felt a lot less threatening and therefore even easier to deal with. That's where I'm at now, and the thoughts continue to decrease in frequency and importance every week.  You can do this.  Might as well keep this one going, right?  No point jumping ship just to have to do all of this again next week or next month or next year.

Hi Stella. Im actually really missing cigs. Im thinking about smoking a lot which is a pain. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is soooo worth the effort. My cravings are mainly mental. I knew this would be the case for me. I wish l could press the fast forward button. Im so sick and tired of stressing about wanting/needing to quit that this just has to work! Its psychological warfare isnt it. I have to keep telling my brain its no big deal....just changing a habit. I can psyche myself positively. I cant wait to reach the other side.....freedom, freedom, freedom

The fact that you learned something is the most important part. Caving happens. It often takes quite a few quit attempts before one sticks. The fact that you came here and took accountability so quickly is awesome!

We have a sister site that you may want to check out. It has a free, self-guided Cognitive Behaviour Therapy(CBT) program that is meant to help Depression. It also has a support group but it has not been very active since we launched the new version. It would be great if you wanted to post there too. Hopefully we can get the community more active there like it is active here. That goes for anyone else reading this as well. CBT contains great skills that I think anyone can benefit from, not just people who struggle with depression.

Attemp 3 is a good number Sparrow1975! I have a good feeling about this one.

Thanks so much for your replies and support guys. It is really reassuring to hear from others who have done it. It reminds me its not impossible. And lm taking in all the info and advice l get. Ok so the dreams are normal...lol stellablue...."better funky dreams than funky breath"...so true.
My blog section doesnt open so lm going to use this post for venting. I welcome any comments but dont feel obliged.
I caved again. It was a case of depression + withdrawals = giving in to smoke. I let myself down though because l didnt try to use any of my coping measures. I gave in too easily. So lve learnt something.
Attempt 3 starts today! Ive got this!
