Quitting tomorrow

2 months since l quit smoking! It feels so good to be a non smoker. When l see smokers l feel sorry for them. Freedom from addiction feels good. I still get occassional cravings....they come out of nowhere. My doc said it takes 3 months for the physical cravings to stop. I dont know how true that is. Mine feel more psychological. I wont feel truly free until l stop getting cravings completely. In the mean time lm happy with the work lve put in and how far lve come. Feels awesome

Hi Sparrow.
It's hard to believe we are both closing in on 2 months of being smoke free. It's such a great feeling isn't it?  I would have to say that for the most part the cravings to smoke have ended with a few exceptions here and there. I did have a situation the other night that was extremely stressful and I had that overwhelming feeling that I just needed to have a smoke to calm down. I took a few deep breaths and it passed within a few minutes. My battles seem to be much more short lived now vs. when I first quit and those feeling could last an entire day. I too can't wait until I am passed all of this and  the thought of smoking never enters my mind.

Hi Pappy
Thanks so much. Its the best thing lve done for myself in a very long time. The cravings are mostly gone. For the most part l dont think about smoking anymore but sometimes a craving creeps up on me or if lm stressed or down l might think one would be great right now......so much better but still not entirely there. I cant wait for the day when l just never think of smoking again. Until then l cant be complacent. However l dont believe ld go back to it. It was so difficult being a smoker who was worried about my health and so desperate to quit but couldnt do it. Im so grateful lve made it this far. No way do l want to go back there again.
What about you Pappy? How are you travelling?

I know Tim. Cigarettes are super expensive here in australia. I love not throwing my money away on a dirty rotten habit that does me no good. Imagine how much l'll have saved in a year for an awesome holiday

Hi, congrats on one month! I'm new here, trying to find and do anything I can to deal with cravings. New to online support and chat type stuff, but this beats going to the store and caving in

A whole month!  YAY!  Way to go Sparrow.  You kept at it, and kept learning, and now look at you.  One month of freedom from smoking!  Do you have a reward in mind?
