Another milestone yesterday! I went to lunch with my husband for the first time since I stopped, and I got through it! Actually it wasn't as bad as I thought, I think I was more worried before than during! The only thing I found was that at the end of the lunch I wanted to leave straight away. I felt  uncomfortable because normally I would have had a coffee and and a smoke so we left and I felt good!! Got home and had the coffee! Little by little!

Hey Talulha!!!

I must have missed you when you first came aboard, so welcome  AND  welcome back!!!  Congratulations on reaching that 30 day milestone!  Be sure to reward yourself for this accomplishment  AND  every other milestone that you reach!  You are right in the middle of a good stretch of milestones...  just completing 4 weeks a couple days ago, 30 days now, 1 month in a couple days and then 5 weeks after that!!!  I loved that week when I quit and celebrated like a wild man!!!  I hope you do the same, because you really deserve it!  The celebrations will also help you keep psyched up to make it through until the 50 day virtual cruise!!!

The worse is over now and your solitary is over!  Keep on taking it one day at a time keep us updated on your progress!

Talulha, congrats on 30 smoke free days!  One day at a time is the way to go.  Its those little steps that add up quickly, and here you are at a month already!  Time flies when you are having fun!    While the past 30 days might not have seemed fun, trust me that your body is having a fun time being smoke free!  Important things in life are worth fighting for!  I'm glad you are back to celebrate 30 days.  Now don't be a stranger!  Here's to the next 30 smoke free days, and beyond!

Hi Ashley, I just kept remembering that when I smoked the first one after stopping I felt absolutely nothing, and then I realised that it was because I had no nicotine in my body! How can you satisfy something that isn't there? I kept to my water, my sugar free sweets, my one day of crying like a baby and I took it one day at a time, that's so important..one day at a time. Yes the days dragged by, I felt tired and weepy but I took lots of deep breaths and said to myself " it's okay, keep going, it'll soon be over" and I just kept going day after day. I remember one day I put on my shoes twice to go to the shops to buy cigarettes but I kept taking them off and I finally had a long hot bath and put my pyjamas on!!!!! And at the end of the day I thought " and you didn't smoke"!!!
I've been back at work now for 2 weeks and okay it hasn't been easy, all the old times and places that I used to smoke had those memories but hey....look at me......one month and I'm still free!!! I'm slowly going out with smoking friends and going to the bar now and again, little by little and I'm taking nothing for granted, I still have to work at it but you know what.....everyday I think less about smoking, now it's more a thought than a want, does that make sense? Also I set myself the challenge of not coming back to the site until I'd been free a month, mainly because you were all so good to me and gave me so much support  when I slipped and I was so embarassed to admit that I slipped AGAIN on holiday, I decided I'd come back with my head held high and free for a month!
Little by little, that's me from now on, always vigilent. Phew that felt good!!

I'm back! I promised myself I wouldn't come back until I'd been a month free of cigarettes....stopping and starting stopping and starting...here I am and 30 days free!!!! Can you believe it! I've been through "hell" week, "heck" week, "just one more please" week, "this might be possible" week and I'm now into "feel proud of yourself" week!!!! I never thought I'd do it! I've still got a long way to go and and I'm being very vigilent, thanks so much for your help and suport, I'm staying here until I've  been  free for at least 5 years...and then some!
