Great news...Spain has finally passed a no smoking law in public places that comes into force on Jan 2nd! It will make life so much easier and I hope it will persuade more people to stop.

Here I am on day 56, today I'll be starting my diet as I've put on over 3 kilos, and it's all gone around the middle making me look like an out of shape pear, horrible. I didn't reallise I was eating so many sweets and larger portions of food but obviously I have been. A bit depressing I have to say.

Hello Talulha Look at you with 50 days smoke free. They say you're " on the beach " now ! Whatever you're doing keep doing it because you're doing something right ! Good idea going back through the reading material. Alan Carr's book , The Easy Way to Stop Smoking  has been beneficial to many people including myself. Try and stay busy so you won't have time for self-talk. 50 days is also a time for a reward to reinforce the quit. Keep taking it one day at a time and before long you'll wonder why you ever smoked in the first place. Amazing isn't complacent and 50 days one day at a time is amazing. Excellent for you. breather

50 days and still going! I was going to add "strong" but I changed my mind! the most important thing is here I am at 50 days and not smoking, I've started to read my "no smoking" books over again and it's been useful. I'd forgotten about things like complacency, the debating issue  and sudden triggers. I must remember my escape plan and use it.

Hi, Tallulah,

Don't give up! You've done sooooo well! What about starting your Quit Meter so you can see your progress so far? That might renew your motivation... Do you have someone you can talk to about what is happening currently in your life? Stressful times are of course when we most want to turn to our comfort measures, whatever they may be. Better than a cigarette, and the likely regret of that, how about going for a comforting hot chocolate and chat with a good friend that you enjoy but maybe haven't seen in a while?

Keep us posted. Be strong. Be a non-smoker!!

Hello Talulha  You've come so far in 48 days. Stay the course and eventually the days will be better. You've already been through the worst. Try not to engage in self-talk with the comittee. Most of all be kind to yourself. Stay busy , go for walks and get fresh air. Be sure to reward yourself. Even a small reward reinforces the quit. Be proud of yourself. Excellent for you. breather

Had a few not so good days, I've been feeling  a little more preocupied, I've been thinking a lot more about smoking and have even been debating again. It's now been 48 days so I have to keep going! I musn't give in! But I do have to say that I think about smoking less every day usually but these last few days.......Any advice would be welcome.
