WELCOME SERENITY, NOTHING IS EVER EASY. YOU HAVE TO WANT IT BAD ENOUGH TO MAKE IT WORK. BE STRONG AND REMEMNBER ALL THE GOOD THAT WILL COME OUT OF IT. ALSO IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER, HELP BOTH OF YOU BY WALKING TOGETHER, MAKE NEW MENU'S TOGETHER THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU. THIS WAY YOU ARE SPENDING TIME TOGETHER AND GETTING HEALTHY AT THE SAME TIME. IM PULLING FOR YA GIRL, YOU CAN DO IT! I had the roughest time of my quit yesterday. Nearly through my time away, until I figured out that I am really angry at one of my friends, who has been mean and nonsupportive since I quit. What strange is that I normally would have had bunch a cigs while figuring out the problem. Not that they make me think better, but because they help me to feelo comfortable while procrastinating. Unfortunately, I was starting to romanticize it. Put your coping skills into place before that happens. I finally asked myself if I was going to hand my 40 days over to that mean witch? Hi guys, and thanks for all tips and support so far. Well, today is day three and this morning was MUCH better. I sat in the garden and "smoked" a straw - lots of deep breathing! Was quite pleasant. I have just realised I am much luckier than when I quit last time as it has been a long time since I allowed myself to smoke anywhere in the house. (Always just the garden for a while now.) So I don't actually feel too bad about the house and can actually focus while at the PC this time where I couldn't last quit. And this morning, something woderful I was actually overcome by a feeling of peace and euphoria to have finally DONE something rather than sitting thinking "I have GOT to stop smoking" every time I smoked one. This morning, well I finally HAVE! Thanks again. Serenity

OH OK - maybe I am starting to get this! Read another post here. Started figuring why I feel so cack today and why I want a cig when I know they are sucking the life out of me. It's emotions isn't it? I am using them to avoid emotions and figuring how to deal with them, or at least, accept them! My "baby" - aged 13, came home from 3 weeks with her dad last night. She is a fairly overweight girl and doesn't like being so. It stresses me out - trying to figure how to help her without making it some kind of issue. (I HAVE weight issues myself and her size worries me greatly!) I want the issue to go away. I want not to have to face it. And so I want my usual "comfort" fag that I use when life is tough. Pathetic really. Meg

Mornings were the time I would get straight out of bed and head to my seat in the garden for a big drink of water and a cig. Well, two cigs. Maybe even 2 and a half. Then breakfast. Then back out into the garden for another one. Or maybe two! This morning, I feel as though I would kill to be sitting out there doing my thing. Any tips? Lol. Thanks to you both. (I crave chocolate on a regular basis anyway but I just give in to those!) Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I think I will try some of those from tomorrow morning. You're right. My morning can still be a pleasurabel "me" time. Need to work on changing what "pleasure" means now. Urges have lessened a lot and am feeling a lot better. Thanks.

Heya Serenity :) Am so glad you are having a much better day today. Take one moment at a time get throught that one then focus on the next. You may find that you will soon find other places to sit in the mornin to have you glass of water and breathe in the fresh clean morning air. Be proud, reward yourself - you got through day 2 :) Way to go. I hope you have a wonderful day PrincessC :) x

Serenity Hi, I was a morning smoker also, I understand what you're going through, I used to grab the dog and go for a walk as soon as I was out of bed, I did this for weeks, then I would come back and be ok have my coffee and breakfast, chew on straws and cinnamon gum and drink at least 4 bottles of water a day. That thought is gone for me now, so you see it gets better , just do it a day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,041 Amount Saved: $276 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 3 Mins: 43 Seconds: 56

Post and read and post.. then post some more. It helps! You did the righ thing to post here instead of smoking. Change your routine. Reward yourself in different ways. Treat yourself to very special breakfasts, it might cost a bit - but so did smoking. Right now you need to reward yourself as much as you can. Pamper yourself as much as you can. It does get better I promise!
