I won't quit now. It's been too many days of heck to have to do this again. And I knwo that if I had a smoke I would just want to quit again. I had my 1st smoking dream though. Only, my hubby was leaving me, so I told him "Fine, but I'm gonna start smoking again, that way you will leave broke." :) HAHAHA
At least I am realizing the money this has cost us. I quit on Feb 15th (Hubby on the 19th) so I like the Valentine's name idea. I think it should have crazy in it, maybe, cuz we muxt all be going a little crazy by now. Thanks for the words and keep posting.

I think of that all the time. Only for me it was Export. Why would I let a company that large take all my money. It's not like I have enough to just burn up and throw away. And anyway, I would much rather spend it on my kids. At least they will Thank me for it. Keep working hard guy. We can beat this nasty nicodemon.

Well, everyone had me so worried that today would be soo hard. Everyone said "I quit quitting i=on Day 10", "The cravings were too much to handle by Day 10", etc. Well, I'm here to let you know that it's not always that hard. If you tell yourself there's nothing to worry about, there won't be. I had myself half crazy that I would fail today, because everyone told me that I would. But I didn't. I made it through the day, and feel pretty darn good about myself. We can all do this as long as it is what we want. There is no magic day that tells us we are going to be OK, that it will be that much easier from here on out, that we have 'beaten' it. But we can make that happen for ourselves. All we have to do is say We are going to be OK, It's going to be easier from here on out, and we have this thing beaten. Will power, and positive thinking. Don't we tell our kids (those of us who have 'em) that they can do anything they put their minds too? Well, it goes the same for us. Once we put our minds to quitting, WE DARN WELL WILL!!

I think that you have given everyone looking to lose weight, or just to exercise to feel better, the inspiration they needed. I have not exercised in soo long because it was just too embarrasing to be 27 and out of breath in under 10 mins. Whats up with that. I am finally tired of feeling so much older than my age and I think that now, thanks to your push, I may just be able to get out there and start improving many other areas of my life.

Thank you everyone. And Iyour right, I AM quit. As I have no intention to ever have another smoke, I am quit. I guess I am just scared to tell the kids I am quit and then have a slip. As PeterPan said, I don't want them to "look at me like only kids know how- you know the look they get when they see you doing something really stupid.."
And your right about explaining this process to them . I can only hope that being a part of this quit with hubby and I would be enough to keep either of them fom lighting up in the future. God knows, they are able to see first hand how crazy this is at times makig us. But they really are so proud and I can see that every time I look into their smiling faces and answer the all important question to them "How long has it been now?" I am proud to say 10 days 17 hrs. 44 mins. and 45 secs.
And I bet they are gonna love the rewards we do share with them. They don't know this yet, but we are already paying for our first family vacation to Disny. I can't wait to book a Non-Smoking room :)

MomMom and Nurse....You two are so wonderful. You remind me so much of me and my mom, although she has not yet taken this step. (She did just admit yesterday that becuase of my hubby and I, she has been thinking about it WoooHoooo)
Please keep working together and know that you are an inspiration to us all. And even a reason to make my hubby laugh. Even though it was at me because now I cry at movies, commercials, and apparently internet posts.....but what the heck. I am right on your heals MomMom, keep gong so I can keep trying to catch up :) and Nurse, keep up the great work. What a wonderful way to show your mom you support what she is doing. Think of it this way, right now you are saving each other's lives.

OK everyone, need some great advice here. I have two kids that have been wanting my hubby and I to quit for some time. Well, now that we are both doing it, they are ecstatic. Problem is, they want to know "When are u quit??
How do you answer this question to a 5 or 11 year old? The little one now is just told we quit, but as for the older one? I explained to her that it is a process, and as such it takes time. Unfortunatly that will onle hold for so long. I could tell her Tuesday, but she would hold it against me if I have a bad day Wednesday. :) Any ideas?

I am so glad this post is helping some of you. I really do believe that if we concentrate on the good, positive side of this and everything else in our lives, things will be easier. Remember mind over matter. If we think this is easy, that we are feeling better, and can accomplish our goal, we will be able to. I'm sure we can all think of a moment in our lives that we have proven this to ourselves. And we are again. Every day, every minute, every time we get the itch to light up and don't. Congrats everyone. Your beating this.
