Pool night was almost smoke-free for me...I did smoke MY OPPONENT!!!
You thought I'd smoke again? You're crazy!
Hubby seems to have lost the will to fight on Wednesdays. I'm very frustrated by this...again. Having had a couple beers, I said to him many times "you're weak" (knowing this isn't the most therapeutic approach)...he didn't care. Though at one point he did say to me "I will do anything to protect YOUR quit". While I find that very chivalrous, I also find it disturbing that he doesn't care about his own quit. He's also nervous because he took his last Wellbutrin last night before I left for work...he thinks he needs the Wellbutrin to even attempt to protect his quit. I keep telling him it's all in his head, but he's not that confident in himself.
Oh by the way, I did use a couple of Changing's suggestions. I told everybody not to give me a cigarette, and I had a hair elastic on my wrist, and I explained to everyone that I would snap it when I thought about smoking (didn't hurt because it was a very loose hair elastic, but everyone got the point).
So anyway, I made it!
Thanks for all the support and care!

Haha thanks.
It wasn't actually my first smoke-free pool night. It was the first one after my slip. And yes, I went around my work this morning bragging I was on day 50. :)
As for hubby, I've told him that by smoking he is jeopardizing my quit. I don't know what his deal is. Wait'll my 'no drinking' rule goes into effect a couple weeks from now! Then I have no idea what he'll do on pool nights...besides sit home! LOL
Anyway, yep...I made it. I must go to sleep now because I'm due back at work in--ugh, 9 hours!

I found us on page 2 again...slackers.
Legend, glad you're not smoking on your road trip--car rides were always the worst for me. I got stuck in traffic for over an hour on my way to work tonight. In the old days that would've been good for 3-4 cigarettes. Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. Those of us in the great nor'east have certainly seen our share of bad weather this week. I just want it to be sunny and warm so I can open the moonroof and shake off all the dust!
Have a good day all!

figured I'd start the thread with the clever tag line...does this work for everyone?
Oh, by the way, I don't have to reset my stats, do I? :(

Ok then, as master of my own quit, I've decided not to reset my stats. However, I will ask everyone on here who knows me to subtract one smoke-free day from my total, as well as a cigarette 'not smoked'.
I will probably eventually get over that, but for now, I don't want to be a pretender.
So, congratulate me on 50 smoke-free days on day 51...fair??

Wow, and I was complaining that it took me almost 2 hours to do a normally 30 minute commute from Lawrenceville to Philly.
Congrats for making it through without smoking, and thanks for the perspective/reality check.
Good work!!!

Ok, I've been dreading posting this...
I slipped.
Hubby and I were out for our usual Wednesday night pool league, and I was doomed from the second I walked in the door. I felt the 'nic fit' start almost instantly, and told him I was feeling it. He said he was too. I managed to make it through about 5 hours, even though he fell off the wagon a couple hours before that.
It started with letting him exhale in my face. Then, as I recited "NOPE" in my head, I took 2 drags off of his next cigarette. Then I bummed one off the bartender. In my defense my drags were few and far between (I think I took 3 before I put it out).
I entered that information when I logged on here, and it gave me good information...feel bad, but get over it and move on.
I was very tempted to just keep it to myself, but I felt compelled to come on here and tell you all that I slipped.
Man, I hit 40 days and somebody tells me "time for a reward" and what do I do? I smoke.
Sorry to dampen the good mood, and I hope you all can forgive me (even though I know I didn't do anything to you personally, but I feel like I let all the Feb-u-lous Februarians down).

Changing,
1) No, and 2) Yes!!!
Just what I needed to hear!
Mom, I don't think confidence had anything to do with it...I think I was just all hormonally out of whack and from there it just went downhill. Nah, maybe you're right...maybe I was just over-confident (who knows me better than you?!).
We've both been getting a little more out-of-hand than usual the last couple weeks at pool--hangovers and stuff where there weren't any before. I think we've both gotten that craziness out of our system. I know my resolve is back as strong as it was pre-slip, hopefully hubby's is too!
Thanks for all your support, I'm back on the febulous wagon!!!
