Navigator here. Still going strong on my 12th day.
It really doesn't seem that difficult as previous quits. I went cold turkey instead of using the patch, and I stay excited about my quit.
Anytime any thoughts of misery, comes up I cast them down immediately and they become less and less frequent. I am not thinking about my quit as near as much as I did last week. I started working out and that is what I think about the most now.
I really think, the battle is in the mind. We are victorious!

Paula,
Start getting excited about your quit. You will see so many changes in your first week. Think of the money you'll save, clean lungs, and good health, you'll smell good and most of all you will be free.

Hello Jacko,
I read that exercise is one of the most helpful a x-smoker can during especially during the quit.
Don't over do your workout and better to take it easy than have to stop exercise all together for months.
Your stats look great! A big yahoo for Jacko.

My fifth quit.
1st was 1 month
2nd was 7 years
3rd was 3 months
4th was 3 months
This is my fifth. I notice the difference between my quits is my attitude. The 7 year quit and this quit, I am note thinking of not smoking as a loss but a gain.
I true believe it is mind over matter.

Kim,
Remember all that good advise you gave me? Hang in there girl. I am coming on my 30 days and need you to cheer me on through my 30 day blues. Remember just like the first few weeks... breath, breath, breath. Go home and take a nap after work, after you wake up the cravings should be gone.
