Day three was the hardest for me. And lashes it will be tough for the next few days. Be prepared for it to be tough. But know that you are strong, you can do this, you will do this, be determined and take one day at a time. Don't worry about not smoking tomorrow, next week, or month or year from now. Just don't smoke from the time you wakeup until you go to bed, today. Trust me it will get easier...and the urge to smoke WILL pass whether you smoke or not.

Elanie:
I quit cold turkey. The third day was the worst day, so if you do go cold turkey be prepared. I did find it easier to quit cold turkey than on the patch personally. I wanted the nicotine out of my system as soon as possible.

Wanting to have good health and lower my blood pressure, and wanting children.
Wanting not be dependant on nicotine, wanting the urge to stop, wanting to smell good again and be able to smell and breath again.
There were too many reasons to list.

I've had a deep dry cough since I quit. I've read you don't start coughing for 3-4 months after you quit. Is this correct?

Hey Dutch:
I am loving my quit too. I really think it is all in your mind. If you dwell on the negative it becomes a negative quit. If you dwell on the positive, it makes the quit easier and the quitter successful.
Isn't it great to breath freely again.
