I feel exactly the same way. I thought I would feel better after the first 2 days, but I am feeling worse. I am so tired i could crawl under my desk and nap right now - and its only 11am! My boyfriend is doing this with me and of course he is having a grand old time and I feel like a neurotic mess. ANd work is so stressful today I would love love love to go outside and smoke. But I haven't yet. It's good to know there are others feeling like me. I was starting to think I was cracking up!

Hi! I made it through day 1, barely. I did a lot of weeping for no reason but luckily i survived it. Day 2 started out bad, but I am feeling a little better minute by minute. I guess thats how I have to face it.

Congratulations! I was the exact same way the first week, I cried for no reason, yelled at people, totally freaked out. But IT REALLY DOES GET BETTER! The cravings still haven't totally gone away, but they are going farther back in my head. You can do it!!!

Hi! I have been taking St. John's Wort to take a little of the edge off and Valerian at night to help me sleep. Its like a natural valium that yoiu can get at any drugstore. I would get the one from the health food store which is a few dollars more but doesn't have the pungent odor of the drugstore ones. I was having a horrible time sleeping and even after over a month I still wake up 2 hours before I used to, or need to. But at least I feel rested. It does get better, just hang in there. Cry, scream, break stuff, whatever you have to do. Just don't smoke.

Hi Cassie and Chuckb2,
Congratulations!! The first day kicked my butt, but IT DOES GET EASIER. There will be moments that stress you out, but you have to just take a deep breath and work through it. I put a few signs over my desk at work and at home, one telling me that i will save $3421 a year (NYC is too expensive!) others with inspirational quotes. You will miss it at times and others you will start to feel soooo much better that you will realize the struggle is worth it. Call a friend, read a book. I started cooking lots of fun meals for myself with all the fresh veggies I get at the Farmers Markets. Whatever makes you happy for a moment is a great thing. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!

So today is day #9 and not a slip up. I was close a few times and put my poor boyfriend through such hell, but I made it. To celebrate, I played hooky from work yesterday and he took me to Great Adventure to celebrate. We spent all day on rides and playing games. The great thing is the place is now smoke free! I kept thinking about how a week before we would have spent half our time going back and forth to smoke. Today was rough because of work stress, but I am just taking it a step at a time.

Thanks all!
I made it through the weekend - my boyfriend and I planned lots of non smoking things to do. There were still rough patches, he had to put up with my swift mood swings but he was great about it. And then he suprised me with a trip to Great Adventure to celebrate 1 week of no smoking!
I still struggle, this week had some pretty hard moments, but i have been fighting my way through them. Thats all you can do is take it a minute at a time if you have to.
You guys have been so helpful, I really feel like there are other people going through what I am and it makes a huge difference!
