Here is a little collection of quotes I got from another post. I'm sure you can find the origial post down the line but I pulled these out of it and made a document out of it and posted it all over my house. tomorrow is my quit date and I have done a lot of these things to get ready. Also, write a letter to your nicodemon. I posted mine today or yesterday. If you do a search on my name you will probly find it. I also taped that to my mirror. Anyways, I hope these things help:
We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.
Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.
The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... you must do the thing you think you cannot do.
The important thing about your lot in life, is whether you use it for parking, or for building.
Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them. You will find that they haven't half the strength you think they have.
Many of lifes failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
If we did the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.
The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.
Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Ok, so far so good...Thank you for all your good vibes and stuff. I overthought mornings, I mean, there is no way anyone can do all that stuff I had planed to get through in this short a period of time, and I didn't feel like doing any of it. So I'm off to work and I'll turn the site on there.

How true about the days smoked thing! I have a problem with the "forever" concept. It seems like such a long time. So I told myself that when I have not smoked as long again as I smoked, I can think about starting again. I will be about 82 then and I just can't imagine that I will want to.
Hey, you joined on my birthday, 3/14! Anyways, from reading everyones posts there are difficult times all mixed in with the easier times, which makes it hard.Like the say, breath in, breath out....It will get better soon.
Mama
On my very first day, I have trouble driving. I don't have to do much of it, thank god but boy do I want a cigarette when I drive. Here is Houston Texas, there is almost always traffic and it is soooo
boring to sit in traffic with no smoking. Has anyone found any decent helps to this problem? I had water with and candy, and I was listening to a news radio show that was about as interesting as they are going to get. Still craved something horrible.

Tomorrow is my quit day and like the website advises, I have been doing "practices" I just made it 4 hours. According to the WhyQuit site, my nicotine level is now at 25% what it was at 8am this morning after the last cig I smoked. I've never seen anyone celebrate 4 hours since I've been reading here but sometimes we should I think.

Count me in too! I am also in weight watchers and find that the diary I keep really helps me keep it in control. I am quiting smoking tomorrow and feel very ready, but I can always use accountabilty. Are we going to post our wieght, or did or did not gain, or we could post our BMI? What day of the week do we want to do it? I go to WW to be wieghed in on Sundays. Or we could post how many calories we ate that day? See www.calorieking.com. You can find out how many calories almost any food is there. Try it, it's kind of fun. I've already lost 80 pounds on WW and don't want to gain again.

You don't have to take it off a couple of hours before you go to bed, you can take it off right before you close your eyes and the nicotine will taper off as you go to sleep. Then when the first alarm goes off, slap one on, hit the snooze and go back to sleep. Then when you get up for real, it's already working. I am not using patches this time because I feel that for me they were just delaying the inevitable. I started back between the 2nd and 3rd steps. I want to get it over with right away. Patches do make me comfortable at first though.

Hello Mummy,
My kids are all pretty much grown and have grown up with both thier parents smoking. I am sorry to report that 3 of the 4 smoke. Being a good example is a good thing. I am hoping that it is not to late for me to do that. Tomorrow is my date. So I will be thinking of you and you be thinking of me. Today, I am doing a lot of practicing and going 4 hours between cigs. Look at how much we have done for our kids, we can do this!
