Mr. Ed: I have been lurking and reading for a few days and done just a few post, don't know if you have noticed them but I have noticed that we seem to really think alike and I find a lot of your post very inspirational. Today is the day before my quit date and I have about a half a pack left. So I am doing a lot of "practicing" today. This morning I woke up and instead of sitting and staring, I did an exercize vidio that I really like. It was really hard to get up out of my chair before I even had my coffee, but I did it. Then I kind of went crazy on smoking untill I got to work. Driving without cigs is going to be really rough. Now I am here at work and I am not going to smoke untill noon. (about 4 hours.) Anyways, I really like a lot of your post so please keep me in mind this next couple of days. Thank you, Mama My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Count me in too! I am also in weight watchers and find that the diary I keep really helps me keep it in control. I am quiting smoking tomorrow and feel very ready, but I can always use accountabilty. Are we going to post our wieght, or did or did not gain, or we could post our BMI? What day of the week do we want to do it? I go to WW to be wieghed in on Sundays. Or we could post how many calories we ate that day? See www.calorieking.com. You can find out how many calories almost any food is there. Try it, it's kind of fun. I've already lost 80 pounds on WW and don't want to gain again. I am very proud to post my weight. I am 132 pounds this week down from 216 on Jan. 1st of this year. My goal is still to lose 1 pound a week untill I hit 125 pounds and then maintain. I will do this by eating 1200 calories a day (20 points for WW people) and at least 36 excersize points a week (about 2100 calories). I will do this by working out at the y 5 days a week. Three circuit training days and two hour cardio day. I don't quit untill tomorrow but I do have this to be proud of and can't wait untill my quit meter makes me just as proud as posting this. Oh, good grief! :8o: I'm in! I need something like this. I am very embarrassed, though to post my weight but know that it's the only way to make me accountable. I would rather give up smoking 100 times than face my real problems w/ food. That is a battle that I have not been able to win in YEARS. There is a lot of shame and guilt behind all this weight. If you're willing to take me, I'm in! Let me know when we begin! T. I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I figured it would be worth a try. Holding each other accountable seems to be a big help in staying quit ... so I thought if we weighed in ... that may be a big incentive in us exercising, eating right, etc. and losing weight or not gaining weight. We'd basically weigh in once a week ... the goal being 'not to gain' or to 'lose weight'. If anyone is interested in helping to support each other in this fashion like we do with staying quit ... please post and sign up.
