Profound Indeed.........

There are soooo many things about this addiction that are absolutly stupid. Like, yesterday I was going crazy because I wanted a cigarette to celebrate going a week without a cigarette. Like, I had an uncle that died of lung cancer at 35, but because he worked in a steel mill, all my smoking relatives claim it was because of his job. It's easier I guess. I miss him alot but he is never mentioned at family gatherings because no one wants to face the fact that he was taken from us by cigarettes. Like yesterday I was going crazy and today I feel much better. Nothing makes sense about this scencless addiction. Skiddo1967, Look up "walk away the pounds" by leslie sansow (not sure about the spelling of her name. I love those excersize videos and they are not so hard you can't keep up. These are fun to do too. Weighing in for 6/8

In weight Watchers they tell us that one to two pounds of weight loss a week is really healthy, but the other thing is, Zany is right, you can definatly lose a lot of water weight the first week. Looking back on my books from when I started in Jan. I lost 6 the first week, but of course most of it was water. For your weight, Zany, you should probly shoot for somewhere around 1600 to 1800 calories a day and try to only do less than 30% of that from fat.As long as you are eating at least that much to maintain your body functions, you should be healthy. Try to do 5 to 8 servings of fruits or vegitables a day, and at least 8 glasses of water. Mama needs help now!!

Wow, it has really hit me like a ton of bricks this evening and this is the worst it's been yet. I have been really thinking about going out on the patio and getting my daughters cigarettes and lighting up! Now, they say that a craving is supposed to last for 3 min. but this has been about 2 1/2 hours! I started thinking about it on the way home and I did the deep breathing, repeating N.O.P.E. to myself even outloud in the car, read over my reasons for quitting. then I went to the Y to work out and I was still thinking about it. What is going on here, this is a really long three min. Am I the only one this has ever happened to? This is one week now tonight and I have been thinking alot about that today, so I am thinking that maybe that triggered the old celebration thing. So I went to Krogers and got some lowfat frozen yougurt and ate way too much of it. (vanella with peaches) It's still not easing up and those cig.s are still on my patio. It would still be really easy to do and no one would have to know. Please let me know if this is something that is rare and I'm wierd or something. I don't understand. Mama needs help now!!

Ok, I think I have a hold of myself well enough to at least go take a shower and if it doesn't stop by then, I'll just go to bed early. I did expect to be celebrating tonight, but not this way. I guess I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one this happens to but I hope it is not too frequent. I tell you, some of the stuff that that old demon says makes too much sense when you are out of your mind. Anyways, you can't smoke in the shower, so I'll check back in after that. Mama needs help now!!

Well I think I have gotten a little better today and I did just go to bed early but even when I woke up to go to the bathroom last night in the middle of the night, I thought about going to get those cigs. My daughter will be home today and I will ask her to put them away but I know she will probly forget. Anyways, I have done some thinking and looking back on why that might have happened to me yesterday. I read my posts from yesterday and they are really quite telling. You see, I am a sales person, basically a woman selling in a man's profession. And when you make a big sale here, you go smoke a cig., invite others to go with you and tell your closing story while you all smoke at the back door. Yesterday, at about 11 am, I made a big sale and of course I didn't get my usual cig. for celebration or telling my story. I just worked on. That seems to be about the time I started feeling sorry for myself (I found one of my most pathetic posts about then). I went for my walk at lunch and I saw a group of smokers at the back door of another company. I fantasized that they were telling great stories, and envisioned myself with them, and when I passed them I could smell thier smoke. I remember trying to think of feeling sorry for them because they HAVE TO SMOKE AND I DON'T, but I just couldn't make that feel genuine right then. Then I really felt sorry for myself, which led to the massive all evening crave that I had. Funny but that really is the very first such crave that I have had all week. All the rest have been the 3 min. type. So it really caught me off guard. Boy when you are in the middle of that, sometimes the reasons you are giving yourself for going out there and smoking seem sooooo logical. But I didn't and I guess I am proud of that. I am still feeling very sorry for myself, so I am going to be trying to work my way out of that today before I go home and have the same problem again. Thank you for all your support last night. I'm sure that without you, I would be buying a carton right now. Weighing in for 6/8

Hi, 130.4 for me which is down 3 pounds but last night was my big blow out (see my post under Mama needs help now) and I don't know how much of that I will gain back from eating way too much lowfat frozen yougurt. (I think I ate about 10 WW points worth at least). We will see how next weeks results are messed up by it. but hey, at least I didn't smoke.
