Lady,
You have not cheated in any way. Its not against the law to breath. I get my fill of second hand smoke every wednesday night at the bowling alley. That doesn't mean im smoking. Some nights it smells good and I seem to try to smell it. Other nights it just stinks and I can't wait to get out of the building.
Just because I have chose to stop smoking doesn't mean I stop living. We are all put in those situations at times when we are going to be around smokers. I think we all get put into these situations to test how strong we all really are.
You are one of the strongest here on SSC. You are an inspiration to many of us. We also know you are human.
Just another test that you have passed. Hugs to you.

So today was a typical Monday at work. For those of you who don't know im a Dental Assistant and have been for the last 15 years. What a profession to be in as a smoker huh?? lol
Anyway, It was a stressful morning, really busy lots of emergency tooth aches ect. and all I could think about was. I can't wait till lunch time so I can go have a smoke. Thats the only thing that got me threw the last 2 hours before lunch.
After I dismissed my last patient, I went and got my things and THEN it hits me. OMG I'M NOT A SMOKER ANYMORE. I was so sad that I was looking so forward to it. I sat in our lounge area for awhile, ate my lunch then called my hubby to tell him what had just happened.
So since I was so sad, I decided to go to Wendy's and get myself a small frosty. It sure wasn't the satisfaction of the cigarette but it did help.
I just would like to know when or if these thoughts and desires ever go away or is it something that is always going to be so fresh in my mind.

Hi Dottie,
Congrats on your quit. What was your quit date? If you havn't already, go threw the program on the left side of the page. It really helps to get you threw those hard times. Make sure you keep the reasons for your quit close and don't forget to reward yourself. Rewards are so important. I can't wait till tomorrow. My weakly reward is getting a bouquet of flowers every friday for my dinning room table. They cost less than a pack of smokes. Keep us posted.
