Shelly, Im so excited for you. I hope to get a car for my 6 month reward. Im laughing at Coban because after I read your post I also yelled at my hubby to come and read. I got a kiss that said "Im very proud of you also BUT im not buying you a new car" Then we just laughed. I found your ford focus just the wrong color. Enjoy your new ride. Good Evening Everyone! THANK YOU all for all your supportive words! YES Im truly blessed! God gave me a wonderful Husband, family, friends at SSC and the strength to quit a horrible addiction. Hubby said, to tell your Hubbys you all deserve a new car as well.! ;) WOW! What a great weekend. Riding in a car has been one of the hardest things for me to do in my quit. In the last 30 days I have maybe rode and drove a total of 50 miles. In the last 2 days, I put 350 miles on my car. I took a drive up to 2 different lakes, stopped at one of them for a picnic. Went to Sunday dinner at my son and his wifes house. Not one time did I think of a CIG. 30 days from now my next reward will be Calif. to see my son.. WOW I cant wait! Luna, Im very proud to carry you and your mom with me on my journey! Today I have the POWER! Today I have a CHOISE! Today I CHOSE LIFE! Today when I got up my husband said to get dress he had a special 30-day gift for me. He said when I quit 30 days ago he never never thought I would make it over 2 days. And to his surprise, 1 week went by and then another and anther and now 30 days. He said he has never been so proud of anyone before as he is of me. That I shown an amazing want to quit, and have grown into an very strong lady.. Well to my surprise we went for a drive and the next thing I know we are pulling into car lot. And there sits my metallic gold Ford Focus I have been wanting. He handed me the Keys and said it is all mine. He said I know how much you want to go see your son for your reward, and now you can. (My car would not of made the trip) Well now the tears are flowing. I have always had low self-esteem, and to know that my husband is so proud of me and how proud Im of myself for this quit is something I cannot start to put into words. I want to say thanks to all of you again you are my strength! I would never of made it this far without all your encouraging words. Shelly - The tears were streaming down my face! I didn't want to say anything but at the beginning of my quit my husband gave me a new Pontiac G-6 because he didn't want me to ride around in a car that smelled like smoke and be tempted. Aren't husbands the greatest? I am so glad that you were able to see your son. I know that was something you had mentioned at the beginning of your quit - I remember (see us non-smokers aren't spacey forever - LOL) and next stop to California! You're amazing! WOO HOO!!!!!!
