color=Red]But yesterday I didn't think I would be here today.[/color]
I was at my son's hockey banquet, waiting at the long food line and talking with friends. Actually we were talking about my not smoking. All at once, my right arm went numb. Shortly after I noticed my arm getting numb, I started thinking "OMG, the warning signs of a heart attack"! Well then, obviously my heart starting going a million thumps per minute. After a very long minute, things went back to normal.
I'm guessing it wasn't from the withdrawl, but more from a panic attack. Don't know, never had one B4.
Hopefully... it won't happen again. If it does, I'll seek medical help. (Even though I'm not the doctoring type)

Hmmmm... Very Interesting Posts!
My God, I would love to be one of those people that "Social Smoke". I have family and friends that can do it. I believe for them it's never getting addicted to Nicotine. They smoke sometimes even a pack a night while out drinking, then go months without one.
I KNOW I CAN'T DO THAT!!!
One smoke... and I'm screwed, that I do know.
As for that security pack in your purse, it's whatever works for you. I still have packs laying around... but I've been staring them down for over two weeks now. (I keep telling my wife to smoke them)
Good Luck EGGOGO!

Hey Bitsy,
This site has created many ex-smokers. Posting questions and reading the different threads has given us the power to quit and stay quit. We all want to be healthy, thats why we need to stop smoking.
We all have concerns about weight gain, and that can be managed as well.
And your right in realizing your mind as well as the nicotene in your system are going to be a problem. Quitting is DAMN hard.
Thats why we all have to work at this together!!
Good luck,
Ron

Thanks everyone for the posts!
Even though food tastes worse now than b-4 I quit, I guess it's better than smoking. And if my taste buds never recover, I guess I can just live off Chocolate, Oranges, and Sweets. :) ;) :)
(Problem is I'll be as big as the house) lol

Why did food taste a lot better 9 days ago b4 I quit smoking, except Chocolate. Even Pepsi is yucky now... :confuse:
Second question is about dizzyness. I quit the Nic gum on Saturday. Still today (being Wednesday), I still get spells. Or is it not the nicotene in my system or the lack of it, more of my mind messing with me.
Thanks,
Ron :|

Hang in there Me,
Perhaps this won't give much in the way of comfort, but your not alone. I've been questioning the same thing as you are, but I'm trying to get rid of those negative thoughts.
You didn't take a drag, and got dizzy from the smell alone. To me, that is a big step in the right direction. I slipped last week and had 1/2 of a smoke, it tasted sooooo good. But just like you, I keep on fighting, and we both have to focus on the win!!
Talk to your friend, her slip may enforce all those reasons why you quit. It may actually help you. And there is always people within this site that you can call/email.
Good luck Me,
Ron

How a persons mood can change so many times in one day, hell; one hour is scarey. I signed in feeling crappy again this morning and read the post from "Me". A lot of the things that person was talking about was hitting home.
After reading and responding to it, I know were all in this together. And that is enough inspiration to get me through this moment.
Thank You Each and Every One of You!! :)
