Pick One On This List

I can't even pick just one, but I can rearrange the order for the first three: No. 1: 19) fear of death No. 2: 6) having to worry about cancer No. 3: 1) money spent on cigarettes Louise from Vancouver, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1486 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 29,739 Amount Saved: $12631 Life Gained: Days: 194 Hrs: 10 Mins: 52 Seconds: 53

In Memory of Lindsey (Bubba)

It is so hard to believe. I am so sorry to see you gone Bubba. You have saved my life by helping me quit smoking. You will be missed terribly on this site especially. I am sure you are now in the arms of your beloved wife Judy at last. Your name will always be remembered at the SSC. Thank you for coming into our lives and for helping so many. We promise to follow your lead and quit smoking forever in your honour. I for one promise you that. Goodbye Lindsey. Look upon us when we need you. What's So Good About Quitting?

Of course all of those above, but the main thing is that I know I won't probably die of a smoking related disease. No lung cancer. So my answer in a nutshell: LIVING. An invitation to long-timers

Gee, I could go on and on with this and we all know the reasons, but the one I love the most is being able to jump to somebody and hug them and hear them say that I smell so good. I was so timid before of the smoky smell, I would withdraw. And I love hugging! And of course the best one would be my health. I couldn't say a complete sentence without coughing, and when I laughed, I would choke to death. It was so embarassing! The best feature are my stats, the $ saved, which I got to put away in a special account where I dip into for rewards like a day spa, anything I crave to buy without hesitation. Gee, the pot is really big and so is the stack of cigs not smoked. I just can't imagine seeing that many sticks in a pile. At least now I don't feel like a reject of society with a cigarette standing outside a door in the rain or freezing. There is so much more acceptance socially. Face it, you will have to quit eventually and one day anyways. Why wait for spring? My quit date is the first day of spring, March 21st, it is a rebirth, a new life I have been given. I welcome the new smells, of which I had forgotten for so many years. They are just amazing... You can stop me anytime now.....:) :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1489 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 29,799 Amount Saved: $12656.5 Life Gained: Days: 194 Hrs: 20 Mins: 11 Seconds: 15

Life or Death - you decide....

Thank you for bumping this post up. I just don't have the strength to search for them. I am so sad and also happy that he is with his wife. I don't know which but, hey, people, please, I beg you, follow your quit seriously. We have 2 perfect examples on this site, Bubba and Joe Cool. So no need to read between the lines. Smoking will kill you. Here's your proof. Does that help you???? Let's make this site personal!

Alright! This site is getting better and better all the time. I like this new personalized idea. Mr. Ed, you are too funny! Except, I joined in 2003, not in 2004 when the site was updated again. I am just an old timer here with lots of smobriety but always happy to rub it off on somebody new.
