Feel traped...

Hello,
I have been following the online program which I am founding fantastic and I have already starting feeling some improvements in my condition. I noticed also some patterns in my depression. I tend to get more depressed when I work too many hours. Also in one day I can go from feeling great to feeling like crap. Generally I am very professional at work but when I get depressed I am another person and do not work properly.
 
I am not feeling happy at my work because I am in a dead end job. Where I live (not an urban area) there aren't many new job opportunities and I started a part-time business hoping to go full-time. The problem is with my job and the business I work too many hours. Working too many hours leads to worsen my depression. And I can not leave my job because my part-time business do not provide me with the income needed to pay the biils. I feel traped...

Starting Again

This is a reeintruduction since I have joined the program before with some benefits but quit doing CBT after  a while. I have been dealing with depression and anxiety for years culminating in a nervous breakdown last year. Since then I have been on treatment but stopped the medication without counsulting my doctor 3 months ago (which was m mistake). The sympthoms got worse and 1,5 month ago I started another treatment plan. Now I am better from my depression but my anxiety levels are still high. I am doing the program in the depressioncenter.net and I am studying if paniccenter.net could be good for me.
 
I am using the moodtracker with a scale for depression levels but I can not rate my anxiety which could also be helpfull.

Saving Money!

Hello Ashley. I know how important it is to save money for any emergency situation or any other situation. I am not working for 7 months now (due to a nervous breakdown) and it was my savings that have help me on this difficult situation. If everything goes fine I plan to start working on the next fall and save some money again.
 
 Now I cannot help anyone or any institution with money but I can help with time. That's why I got involved in some voluntary projects in my community.

Consequences of Stress

Hello Samantha. Unfortunatly I understand very well what you mean. Due to stress I suffered mostly from:
Frequent headaches
Constipation
 Increased cholesterol
 Blured vision (not on the list)
 
All these symptoms culminated in a nervous breakdown 7 months ago which I am still recovering

Hello Josie. So many elderly people are suffering from depression. In my case ( I am not elderly yet!) I visited a doctor 2 weeks before I had a nervous breakdown and my doctor didn't recognized also that I was with a major depressive disorder. The result: I was not treated and 7 months after I am still recovering from this espisode and still suffering with depression, anxiety and obsessive thinking.

Hello Vincenza. Thank you for sharing with us the bennefits of dark chocolate. Next time I go to a market I will buy and try dark chocolat (but only 100 mg a day, mmmmmm).
 
Do you know if one eat 100mg of dark chocholate each day there will be any interaction with the anti-depressants (medicine)?

Starting Again

Hello Ashley. Thank you for your response. Due to what happened in the past and with my experience, now I am very motivated to work trought my symptoms so I can get better. I am also visiting a therapist 2 times a month with "talk therapy" for 5 months now (thought I do not know if this is helping me).
 
To stick with the CBT I am dedicating at least 30-45 min daily to the program . I plan to write and post on the foruns as I found it helps me a lot.
 
For 1,5 month now (since I begin the new medication treatment) I have been updating my depression levels on the mood tracker tool. Relating to the anxiety levels, I can rate it but it is not possible to write it on the mood tracker tool on depressioncenter.net. Thus I think I will have to rate it separately on the symptom tracker tool on paniccenter.net. I do not know if this is the best approcah.

Hello Samantha. Music has been an important part of my life and I got worse since I stopped listen to music (about 7 years ago). It seems as I got worse I was loosing also the pleasures in life.
 
My native language is the Portuguese but I listen frequently to music with English lyrics. I found that music from Craig Armstrong and movie sountracks improve my mood.

Physical Symptoms of Depression

My main problem is early-morning awakening when I think in all the problems that I have. I have some headaches from time to time.

Before I was so depressed I used to read a lot. Now it seems I do not enjoy reading books, mainly because of the depression. I think I will pick some self-help book and start from there.
