I can totally relate. I have been in the same boat for quite some time. unable to completely quit. The arguing is terrible for me as well when I have been drinking......
I have used that rough time excuse myself. It used to help temprarily but now i know it just makes me feel worse!
I admited i had a problem about a year ago and since then I have made improvement. I am not completely drink free but i have cut back signiifcantly. I like this program because it doesn't say you have to stop completely unlike AA.
I have certainly hard that drinking excess alcohol speeds the aging process. That is actually one of my big fears and what motivated me to seek help.
Surrounding yourself with good positive people I think is soooo important also and often can be overlooked. PPositive people in your like can really bring you up, help you change behaviours and so forth :)
Young people are totally influenced by the TV. Shows like the real world, jersey shore and Big brother show real people drinking as a reward! I know when I was a teenager I totally thought drinking was cool - a lot of that had to do with what I saw on TV. Getting plastered seemed to go hand in hand with university! - according to movies and the tv anyways!
