I have heard a lot abotu AA and it seems to work from some.
For me though I want to cut down. I don't want to completely stop. I don't think this is a realistic expectation for myself. I have been somewhat successful in cutting back but I would like to cut back to only 2 drink three times a week...
what you said about finding a passion really struck a cord with me. I normally am at my best when i have something to look forward to. Even something silly like a nice dinner where I get to wear a nice new outfit... really got me thinking about how I can have more passion in my life....thanks!

The worst trigger was certainly the party. I didnt try to combat it but this will be a goal for me in the future. Next time I think I will avoid this type of event until I feel a little bit more able to resist.
I know exactly what you mean. Loniliness is a killer for me. It just seems like a good idea tro drink at the time. going for an evening walk sound like a lovely idea. I am going to try that tonight. Who knows maybe I will meet someone on my walk haha Well at least my odds are better then staying home alone

What is helping me gain control...hmmm good question..at first it was just the need and the want. In terms of tools i have been drinking a lot of sugar free drinks and talking to some close friends. The program here I find helpful too.
I also going to start walking when i get a crave. I love walking so why not :)
post about all the tough stuff. this group is great to listen.
I dont have any great advice to offer u about your daughter but i am listening
I just know that in the long run you will be helping your daughter more if you get a handle on your drinking even though it might be hard in the short term
