Hall Of Fame Recipient for April 2006

Congrats to you Lady! You have been a huge inspiration to me and to everyone here at the SCC. You are always there for us, and you always remember everyone's milestones. I cannot think of a more fitting recipient! my day so far!!!

Jan, I hope this does not sound insensitive. I write this because I care about you. We are here to support you any way we can. You must make the quit committment to yourself first. If you really want to quit, you will, with or without the NRT. Blaming others for your stress is not productive, and it wastes precious energy that could otherwise be used to fight off the nicodemon. Take a look inside of yourself to find the answer to why you need to keep repeating your quit attempts. We can't answer that question for you, nor can we prescribe a magic bullet that will make you succeed once and for all. Formulate a plan for yourself. Really use the quit program tools. When you are ready to quit, we will be here to help you. woooooosh!

Congrats Bog. Glad to see you are back and have conquered day 4! Take some of that time and energy spent on ebay and spend it on healing yourself! Let yourself experience what a successful quit feels like! Then work really hard to never forget that feeling! How to strengthen lungs?

Me, have you discussed this with a doctor? You may have some COPD or asthma, or other lung disease. While quitting smoking and exercising are good starters to increasing lung capacity, medication can also be necessary in some cases. Your smoking might have been masking another respiratory problem. Ask your doctor if a pulmonary function test might be appropriate (it's painless, not invasive) and also clear your exercise program with him/her if you have not already done so. 6-12 CLUB III

Funny--- Silver and I think too much alike! This place looks like the perfect place to spend the next 6 months or so! The party won't be complete without the male dancers, some crab cakes and some wine (even though I'm not supposed to drink anymore!) What the heck, I will only have one opportunity to experience 6 months quit for the first time! Silver, I promise you I look worse in a swimsuit than you do. I won't be wearing one! Ha Ha Ha See you all shortly!
