Does this make sense to you olbies?

It seems like early on in my quit, I was online here every hour. Call it obsession if you will. Frankly, I think I was scared and without this site I would have been going it alone. After a while, with each milestone crossed I got a bit more comfortable with my quit. Eventually, I spaced out my visits. I still check in here most days, mostly to lend some support if I can. But also, it is a reminder to myself that I am human, I am one puff away from a pack a day. The day I forget the hell I went through during the first 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, is the day I start smoking again. Staying involved here reminds me of those days that I hope never to forget. Survivors 5 Months Quit!

Greetings all Survivors! I just realized that tomorrow will be 5 months quit for me. That means 5 months quit for all of us who started this journey together last September. Congrats to those who are still with us, whether they have stayed quit or had a slip or two. What's important is that we all stay true to ourselves. Review our public pledges. Go back to the very first posts we ever made and see how far we have come. Keep reading the posts of those who are 1 year or more quit, and see how much we have left to learn. Read the posts of those new in their quits, and see how much we can give back. This reminds me of a mantra I learned in nursing school. See one, do one, teach one. Well, I think that can be applied here. Quit: See it, do it, teach it. ''' The Shadow Know's, '''

I agree with John W. I went for several weeks without thinking about a cig. Then, out of the blue,a few days ago, I had some severe cravings that came and went over a couple of days. Stupidly, I had a couple glasses of wine on one of those days and came very close to smoking. After getting past the junkie self-talk, I reminded myself of this. "If you smoke, you will have to sign on to the SSC and fess up, and re-set your meter. How could you do that so close to joining the 6-12 club? How could you think so little of yourself to think such a thing? N.O.P.E. You don't smoke so get over it." Yes, I am honest with myself, and understand that this addiction thing will be with me forever. For me, the SSC does come between me and smoking. Thank goodness! ____________________________________________________ A successful quit means staying true to yourself....
