Yea,  good for you.  Keep it up keep fighting we all need to stick together and help each other.  So stay with us and we will get through it all together.  Take it one crave at a time and beat it.  Keep busy and try not to think about cigarettes.  And yes posting here does distract and help.

Rock is a good name for Rock because he is always here to support everyone and has alot of good things to teach us.

Quit time

Hi Amy,

Welcome alot of good advice and support comes from here.  I smoked for 42 years and was in the top 1 percent of heavy smokers.  Using this program and all the support from alot of the people here I haven't had a smoke in 8 days was tough at first but it's getting easier.

The preperation I couldn't wait to get started.  I was going to wait until I go home in February but decided with the help from the people here I would give it a go early.  So now I'm looking at going home with over a month smoke free.

Some good advice so far.  Especially go through the my program it really educates you and helps.  Read alot of the post here.  I have read and read them and then read some more.   The Alan Carr book that was already mentioned alot of people have talked about it.  My wife ordered it for me which I won't see till I get home in February but I still want to read it.

Just remember your not alone just come here and ask questions or ask for help.  Especially when you are ready to quit.

Jay made it through Hell week !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes many thanks to you all.  I couldn't have made it without you all.  Your stories are all an inspiration.  Your understanding and sticking with us newbies you wouldn't believe how much it helps.  I can't pat myself on the back as much as saying thanks to you all.

It seems some days are easy then all of a sudden like today for some reason I just wanted to break down so bad.   But I remember all my support buddies have made it so can I.

Has anyone else had trouble sleeping the first couple of weeks?  So tired.  My job doesn't always allow sleeping normal but usually when I can I usually sleep pretty good.  But these last few days it's hard to sleep good.

My reward is mostly when my wife tells me what bill she could pay extra on because I didn't buy cigarettes.  And hersheys dark chocolate candy bars.  Can actually taste them better already

Just got back from taking a shower and was amazed I didn't know my shampoo smelled so good lol.

You Made It Jay

Henny Penny the only way I know anything is from this site and what I learn from you all.  My wife told me she ordered Alan Carr's book for me.  I told her thanks I should have over 30 days smoke free by then but still plan to read it I think it can help keep the quit going.  Told her I will probably read it every few months for reinforcement.  She said she will probably read it also.

She has a niece that has a daughter that wants to quit I told her to have her come to ssc don't know if she has or will but hope so.
