Threw out smokes, ashtrays and lighter

Thanks Miss Marple

I don't plan on giving up.  I fell off the horse but am getting right back on.  If I happen to fall again I will just get back on again eventually it will get easier and  I'll learn to ride that horse.  I did smile this morning I woke up and after a bit I noticed hey I didn't reach for what isn't there.  Normally my eyes open and first thing is to reach for them.  Hopefully I'll get a load so I can get back to being busy and it will be easier and less available as I can't stop just anywhere.  So far so good today.

Here I go again

Some will tell you that that only prolongs the symptoms or craves.  But I have heard people say that they did it that way.  If that works for you then at least your only doing one a day which is probably way better than what we were doing.

I also think it's no different really than using nicotine replacement isn't that doing the same thing?  As long as you don't use it as an excuse to get back on the slope and go back to smoking.

Everyones quit seems to be different.  You may think about chantix or one of those pills.  My wife said her quit was pretty easy her doctor told her she could keep smoking while taking it and she started just not wanting them as often and after two months she was a non smoker.

But like Miss Marple said and others have said don't quit quitting.  We can do this together.

Symptom or Craving

Haven't had a chance to talk to my doctor I won't be home until at least the 19th of Feb.  Didn't want to wait that long.  So I want to be done with this by then.  Haven't found a place here to get Alans book read alot about it and will keep looking for somewhere I can get that.  Will check wal marts some still let us in there lots alot of them don't anymore.  But I failed yesterday after 24 hours today's a new day and so far it's going good.

ladycigevictor that's not corny isn't that actually what Alan Carr says basically.  I will write that down my printer is at home my wife fixed it for me or I would just print your post thanks.

And thanks to everyone here for not giving up on me.  I'm not going to give up may hit some bumps in the road but I am determined to end this before I go home.  I would love to show my wife at least 30 days on my quit meter  when I get there.  She thinks I will never quit.  We tried together last March I tried cold turkey she didn't tell me till a few months ago she went to the doctor and got chantix.  Back then I could have used it and would have.  Since then they have put it on the list of medications we can't use and drive because it causes some people to get drepessed and even suicide.  But I believe those people probably had those problems and the medication just amplified it.

Symptom or Craving

Well today was much the same as yesterday except this morning started out pretty easy this afternoon was real bad.  I went in to eat like yesterday and boy was it hard.  I walked back and forth afterwords finally said I don't need them they won't help any.  Walked back to my truck and got one of the lozenges and it seemed to really help then I started playing a game that takes alot of time and use of hands.  Won this round and thanks to the great advice from you all today.

And ladycigevictor  I remembered what you said and it's not corny just a new way of thinking of that trash.

Symptom or Craving

No real problem today kept thinking the demon was going to sneak up anytime but just a few minor glitches while driving times I would normally reach for them in my pocket but just kept telling myself don't need them they won't help nasty things anyway.  Seem to really work.  I have been using the lozenges though.  Now I'm starting to think it's preperation and changing the way we think may make it easier.

Course there were none in the pocket..  This place is awesome  I have tried the patch before and failed,  I tried the lozenges before and failed.  I know now from what I have learned from all of you is I am going to make it this time.  THANKS!!!!!!

I cleaned my truck 3 times now and while talking to my wife today I said man nothing seems to get this smell out have tried everything.  She said you must be doing pretty good your smell is coming back already she told me when her sons and I smoked in the garage or basement she could smell it for a week after.  When she quit I stopped doing it in the house.

Now I can stop it everywhere.  May just be a lull but I know I can do this now.
