Nice post UFO and many congratulations for your one year quit today. You should be very proud. I know that it will appear elsewhere on the site today but for now take my best wishes here!
And Joe, I think I know that friend of yours in the warehouse!
Penitent, only 624 days.
An All Black with a sense of humour at a difficult time, I like it!
Welcome and good luck, you can do this IF you really want to, believe me!

Very diplomatically put Jess!
By way of concurrence with you on this point, I too had no preparation and certainly didn't look to the left of the screen which appears to be all the rage! I too quit cold turkey without any NRT (I was trying to rid my body of nicotine, not find an alternative delivery process) and I show no signs of failing. I am on day 623 now and yes, when you get to this stage you should still be guarded but you can afford to be a little cocky too! People say reward yourself and at this stage I find it tolerable to be happy with my quit!
Good luck with your quit Jess, something tells me you have what it takes.

Potchy,
We are all different and quitting is easier for some than others. Life can be a ***** and smoking can be fun but not particularly healthy. If you fall off get back up like you have and proudly try again you haven't failed until you stop trying.
Welcome back and that goes for all you slippers out there. You are as important to me as the lucky ones who get it right first time, perhaps more so!

Quit Meter? What's a quit meter? Blimey, it's hard enough to quit smoking and maintain it without worrying about a gimmicky "aid"???
Just for today, forget the meter and try to go to bed tonight without having had one puff all day and if you do have a puff, put your chest out proudly and try again tomorrow. If you never give up trying to beat this damn affliction, you're a winner in my book.
Good Luck All
