Josie,
I have read, re-read and read once more QuitorDie's post and I cannot for the life of me see the word "alcohol" mentioned anywhwere. Why would you direct her to your sister site when she does not indicate alcohol to be a potential problem? It is the socialising aspect which appears to be her concern at this time.
My Best Wishes

You are quitting smoking, you are not quitting socialising. Go and enjoy yourself, just don't smoke.
If you want to quit badly enough, it will not be a problem.
My Best Wishes.

Agreed Lizzie but then, after 2 years and 3 months, I started again and, to this day, I don't know why! Very Strange.
As Ex-Smokers, we MUST be on our guard at all times, no matter how long we have been quit.

Been there, seen it, done it and I've got the T shirt!
I was going to quit at 30, 35, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45. After failing every time, I resigned myself to being a smoker for the rest of my life. That was until I had a health scare at 47, the rest, as the older ones here know, is history!
Do it NOW, don't wait for that frightening tap on the shoulder!
Good Luck

Having passed 15,000 hours without a cigarette last night I now head towards my 90th weekend smokefree while luna approaches her 600 days of abstinence. You know what, I am more proud of her accomplishment than my own! Well done Lady!!
We both undertake to remain smokefree this weekend like so many weekends in our recent past! Join us?
