Good morning all, just checking in. I've made it through a week, today being day 7. I'm doing good, not too many cravings and have not had to be attached to the inhaler. The support group here has been a great help and sometimes just reading other's messages gets me through. And to deb48...without "His" help I wouldn't be where I am today! So to everyone on this site I wish you a crave free, smoke free day and many more!!

Hi Grin..some doctors just don't have the people personality needed to deal with patients. I smoked for 32 years before quitting and when I asked my doctor for a prescription for an NRT he said because I was only smoking between 6-8 cigarettes a day that he didn't think I was addicted to nicotine. He did give me the prescription for the NRT and I'm glad he did because without it I know I would have slipped by now. Good luck to you!!

Thank you so much..I really appreciate all your support and kind words of encouragement. I am feeling good and although the first three days were tough, the last 4 haven't been so bad. I have no doubt that I will be able to continue to be smoke free.
The planning I did before I quit and this site is what is helping me to be successful this time. So for those of you who are new to this site and have just quit...hang in there, breathe deep and post to this site as often as you like. And to all a happy and smoke free weekend. Meg

Hi Renee..I started my quit one week ago. I am using the Nicotrol inhaler. This site has been a life saver. The people here are very supportive and the program is working for me. I've tried to quit twice before and both times I was not prepared, I had no quit plan and tried to quit cold turkey. I failed both times. This time I followed the advice of this site and the people here and I haven't slipped once. I'm feeling so much better now that I'm not smoking anymore. You can do it too. Just hang in there and visit this site often.
