So I was talking with a friend of mine tonight and telling him that I have been working towards this quit. He asked if I had taken Chantix. Just so happens he has a full prescription that was bought for his son that was never used. I'm going to give it a try beginning Monday. Can anyone out there fill me in on any side affects or any experience you all have with it. I've heard so many people talking about it.
Thanks Terry
Thanks for your concern Kelly,
I knew I would get that response from someone :)I have read up on it and know all the side effects and the questions the doctor will ask me. Since I do not have high blood pressure and am not on any kind of medications including over the counter pain meds, I feel ok with this one. I would not take anyones blood pressure medication or pain meds but I will do this. These things cost an arm and a leg and my medical insurance won't cover it until I spend $2500.00. This is free

I'm not quite sure yet what my quit date will be. I am supposed to take this stuff a week before my quit date so maybe next week end. It's definitely coming, I just don't quite feel like myself yet. Hopefully in a few days I'll know better. I kinda feel upside down and outside of myself still.

What do you mean when you say you quit using it? How long were you taking it? I only plan to take it long enough to help me quit. Then I plan to not use it anymore.
I've been logging on all day hoping for some more words of encouragement and no one seems to want to talk to me. Wah! Where is everyone? :) Started on the Chantix this morning and just waiting to decide if I am going for this coming weekend or the next. Guess I'll have to let this stuff kick in first.

Thanks Ladies, I can feel my heart heading back to being in it. It's just going to take me some time to get to where I need to be, to that same place I was before where I was ready to do this. I'm getting back to being me pretty quickly and I'll be good to go. I am prepared for situations. I have all the goodies in place already and have my mind set on this. It will happen. It needs to happen.

What a great topic for me. I haven't yet quit but today was my first day on Chantix. I have had that problem about half the day with the tooting business. When I first cut down on my smoking about a month ago and I was down to about 3 a day I had the same problem. I have to say that the Chantix must be immitating some of the withdrawl symptoms we experience when quitting because I haven't yet cut down again. It's good I live alone
What a great site!
Thanks all, Terry
