DJ, I'm on my 3rd day and that's exactly what I had to do. I had to decide if I wanted to quit more than I wanted to smoke. I'm still afraid that I can talk myself into smoking again and it scares me because it was so tuff getting to where I am now. Put them down now and as my friend Sparky said "You know what has to be done, now let's get it done" Sure kicked me in the butt. I wish you luck and I'm pullin for ya.

I was a grandma at 40 and then at 42 and now again at 50. The grandkids are the best. I am almost done with my day 3. So someone explain to me "Hell Week" and "Heck Week". Not that I need an explanation of what that means :) but is Hell Week supposed to be the week after my first 3 days or what?

Let's see, what was wonderful about my smoke free day? Well, I got out of bed and realized I didn't have to have extra time to stand around smoking with my coffee. I did not have to waste any time at work going outside to smoke and when I got off of work I did not stink up myself or my car and went to buy baby rattles and toys for the older grandkids and then I got to kiss em all up and wasn't a stinky grandma. There that about covers it and I'm only 3 days quit.
Ew I didn't mean only. I have 3 full days quit! There that's better.
ICL you are wonderful to discover that you can be positive about this. Keep up the good work.

Hello Anxious1, I haven't seen the post you are talking about but I do know that you can choose at any moment to go in a different direction than you are going. Stop and take a deep breath and then think "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" Are you familiar with Ren and Stempy? Pretty funny stupid stuff. I hope you are feeling better.

Yep it's been a good day. I find more so the last couple of days that right after a meal is when I really think about smoking. So far so good and tomorrow when I wake it will be #5. I'm excited. I told my son tonight that I had quit and he said he won't get excited about it until I've been quit for a month. I told him, I'm not smoking anymore, but deep down inside me somewhere I'm still holding on to that thought that I could still have one. Yikes.
