I never let myself get to the point of hungry. I'm always eating something. Rewards are difficult for me because when I want something I usually do it. If I do the water and mints and the gum and all that other stuff I will get past it. Today was a bear of a day at work and I have a feeling tomorrow will be too. I found myself thinking that today would be a good day for a cigarette.I am going to start a new thread because this one is getting real slow in loading again. Good Girl... I found one of the big triggers is getting hungry.. so I have been trying to nibble or eat smaller amounts more often. I am aware of the trigger so that helps. You will have up's and down's but you are too far now to go back .. I sure don't want to do the first few days over again... Hang in there.. don't forget to reward yourself.. even if you take good care of yourself.. think of the "reward" and why you are getting it. That's right, schedule something else into that time. Are you at work? Then get together a "crave basket" - fill it with some fun things - sunflower seeds, word finds, trashy magazines, packets of hot cocoa, lotion. Then when the mid-mroning break time comes along you have that to look forward to. FYI, sometimes those craves increase around the time of milestones, like one week , one month, 100 days. Since you just passed a week. Yeah, Terry!!!!!, your mind might be crying out for a reward. Since you used to reward yourself with a cig, it is throwing a fit. So, guess what? Reward yourself...lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 341 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,640 Amount Saved: $2,318.80 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 3 Mins: 42 Seconds: 49

Terry, Break the old routine by introducing a new activity. Walking is a great idea! A computer game maybe if it's too cold out? Keep persevering and congrats on 9 days! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

You've turned intio a raving b!7c4? You say that like it's a bad thing! Do something else, Terry. You know the drill. Sip some cold water, chew on something, take a short walk, make a phone call. Shout Woohoo!!!! 9:15 is not smoke time anymore because you don't smoke. Now it's _________time. Even if it's raving b!7c4 time, that's OK as long as you don't smoke. Just hang in & do what you've been doing, cause it's working.
