I think its great that they give free patches out in the UK. My mum went to one of those clinics and thats how she quit (her 3 month anniversary was this weekend!!) Shame they don't have something like that in the USA... Can you get them on insurance here?? It would make sense considering how much smoking related illnesses must cost the nation...

Here is what I think...maybe if you wouldn't have signed up, they wouldn't have had enough people to have the class, then they may have cancelled it.

Hello everyone
Thought I would tell you about the naughty thing I did at the weekend. The previous week I received a letter from my Doctor's surgery telling me if a joined a No Smoking Course I would get free patches! (they cost around �22 per box in UK) so I though ooo this sounds good to me but then realised I was a non-smoker!!!??? So very naughtily I decided I would join the session and pretend to be a smoker to get some free (4 weeks supply I may add if you attend all sessions)am I really awful?? When I went along I felt like an imposter amongst all these poor people trying to quit and let me tell you I hope they do but boy did I feel smug!! Anyway, I told the lady I only smoked about 3-4 cigs a day then I had to breath into a machine thingy so they could see my carbon monoxide reading (I think) and it was the lowest possible reading but because I had told them that day was my quit day and had not had a cigeratte(more lies) I got away with it! But then, to my horror, the lady testing me said ...oh well you'll only need a 7mg patch (oh no thinks I, I am on 14mg - serves me right!) Then when I went to collect my patch from the patch stand I had to speak to someone else and said (yet more lies) oh I'm a bit worried about starting on the 7mg patch, what if I go out for a drink and smoke more cigarettes, yahoo..... he agreed - get that girl an oscar(the life of a liar is not an easy one!)and he put me on 14mg - phew! and I skipped off happily into the sunset!!!
Keep strong everyone hope you don't think I'm too terrible but needed to confide in you!!!

you'd think if the majority of the country (US) doN'T WANT SMOKERS, and knowing basically it wasn't our fault...they would make help resources to quit available to all smokers who want to quit.
