Naughty, naughty Tilly! I LOVE it! Not only did you oh-so-cleverly get yourself what you need to protect your quit, but it kept you occupied and safely off the streets, as they say! Ha ha Great story -- thanks for sharing -- er, confessing! Keep the faith -- and your wonderful quit My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 127 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,115 Amount Saved: $1016 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 17 Mins: 26 Seconds: 34

Well Tilly - You are one step ahead of me...I was trying to figure out how to get the patches without going to the courses (I failed!) so I had to go on paying for mine...now if only I weren't so lazy...I'm sure I could act like a smoker...I had lots of practice. In January 2006, there was a study done by our Ontario Government(I think) on NRT's. Only so many were accepted and you only had to answer some questions on your smoking habits. I got 8 weeks free patches and unfortunately used a few here and a few there until they were gone. Had to buy new patches for this quit, but at least I'm smoke free! Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 941 Amount Saved: $279 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 12 Mins: 42 Seconds: 23

Tilly, Hee hee hee :eg: I always say things are so much better when they're free! Good for you. If it saves you a bit of money, then why not? Keep that great quit going, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 924 Amount Saved: $270 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 11 Mins: 10 Seconds: 42

Lol at Tilly. Well done you! I am in Fife in Scotland. We are even more advanced here. Our local leisure centre is running a campaign called "Quit n Fit". You can have your choice of NRT free for 12 weeks. Attend either group sessions or solo with counsellor sessions for that 12 weeks. And (once you've done the inductions) get free use of the facilities - gym, pool, aquagym for 12 weeks as well. The meetings and the gym stuff is what makes it for me. Just brilliant at helping you to focus and also to work off some tensions. They have been having really good results here with this combined approach - and yet are struggling to get funding??? madness. Tilly, hope you enjoy those freebies! Love this post! I sure wish something like that were offered here in the US. I live in tobacco country and the bible belt. They preach hell and damnation with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth from the pulpit! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 158 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,917 Amount Saved: $1264 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 18 Mins: 26 Seconds: 6
