Good morning to all. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Stayed in bed late today. Not sleeping of course - can't do much of that. I filled in info but haven't done a journal. Will check that out. Thanks again! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $21 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 57 Seconds: 48

Hello everyone, a little shaky right now. I feel like Cybil again today, arguing with myself. Hard to remember reasons why I quit.

Thanks! I made it past the 24 hour mark, even the 48 hour mark, but last night I screwed up at 7 p.m. Finding it real hard to remember reasons why I quit. thanks jnine, have been cleaning like crazy. I can't stop shaking. Have never experienced withdrawal before. Does it really get better after HELL week? Just about at my wits end here! I feel possessed most of the time. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 96 Amount Saved: $15.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 55 Seconds: 31

Wow Katy, your record is impressive. How long did it take for you to get over the "I don't like myself" phase of quitting? I have done just about everything I can today to try and get my mind off of a cigarette and absolutely nothing works. I've cleaned house, cleaned the car, walked/jogged with the dog, went to the grocery, tried to watch a movie, talked to a neighbor (of course, who was smoking at the time), etc., etc. Honestly, this obsession is making me nuts. I don't want to feel sorry for myself. And, I really don't know what I want. Thanks for you help! :quest:

Kit Welcome aboard. You have come to the right place. 4 days is a great achievement. When I started I never made it past 24 hours, so you are already making yourself better. Be prepared, this will be a wild ride, but it will also learn alot about the addiction, the way out and best of all about yourself... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 803 Amount Saved: $231 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 5 Mins: 15 Seconds: 41

Hey, Cybil (good one, there): Nobody ever said hell week was easy. But nothing worthwhile is, is it? Quitting is SO worthwhile and YOU'RE so worthwhile! Don't ever forget that. You keep forgetting your reasons for quitting because you're allowing yourself to feel deprived, that you've "given up" something important and valuable. What you must do is to get angry at the fact that you're a DRUG ADDICT. Feeling sorry for yourself because you can't have your drug is SO self-defeating (although we all have done it). I will tell you that I was successful ONLY when I refused to allow myself to fall into that trap. I'm so angry at the fact that I wasted 35 years on this addiction that I WILL NEVER give one more moment to it or one more penny to the tobacco industry. Try to turn that thinking around -- it can make a HUGE difference. Go get 'em! Keep the faith My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,463 Amount Saved: $888 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 14 Mins: 16 Seconds: 54

Stay tough today. and, keep posting.
