Hi all of you fellow January Quitters;
It's about time I got involved with this group I think. You all seem like awsome people. I don't know how many times I tried quitting before, but never successfully. The trip up was always the thought that "one won't hurt me....." This time I am committed to the quite, and here is why.
October 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. If it was lung cancer I would have understood, after a forty year history of smoking! Anyhow, my life needed to change on all levels, so that I what I have been working on. The first of course whas the treatment regime, which I am glad to say is progressing well. Secondly was to reorganize my finances which took a huge hit due to the timing and duration of being out of work. Thirdly, I had to leave my former high stress and physically demanding job as an acute care nurse and find something else to do. I have found a new job which is totally stress free, and addapts itself to my needs and abilities as time progresses. So, Life is Great, and what better time to kick the nicotine out of my life. 15 days into the process now. Am using Thrive gum, but even less of that every day. Also have a fake plasting cigarette for those time I feel I need to be holding one.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!!
