My husband and I are on the patch as well. We're into our 3rd box of 21 mg and doing really good. I hope we'll be OK when we switch down to the next level. And you're right...coping skills, determination and mind-set will help see us through this. For what it's worth, I made up a list a couple of days before our quit. I had 3 columns - people that we hang around with or are related to that still smoke, people that have quit smoking, and people that have never smoked. Unbelievable numbers. I know we're the minority for sure, but omg! Maybe worth a shot to try it. We found it a real eye-opener. I'm going cold turkey this time. I've tried everything and the way I see it now, all I need is DETERMINATION. omt, I also quit for 2 months last year, could not believe I blew it. The same thing is showing its ugly head now that blew my quit last year. Coping skills. Gotta find a way thru this time. It takes strong people to quit, and we are strong. We can do it this time. I'm not going to let this stupid job dictate to me that I have to smoke to work here. (having issues at work today).... Tina, I'm embarrassed to admit this! I don't know how many times I've tried to quit. At least TEN! The last attempt was Oct. 28 and I made it almost to Christmas without a smoke. (almost two months) Kristilu, I agree, I am taking food over smokes right now. This time I am thinking, anything but a smoke! that is what always got me the other times...I would think "just one". But, that doesn't work! I'm still hanging in too!!! Trying to stay off of the food, but at times it's food or cigarettes, so I choose the food. I have been trying to make it healthy food as much as possible. I've also been turning up a cup of water like it's rum and coke!!! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 75 Amount Saved: $20.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 39 Seconds: 10
