Anticipatory anxiety - sitting and fretting/worrying about something you have to do - physically tenses you up and mentally thinking in a negative pattern - increases your chance of having a panic attack.  so yea, sometimes, just do it without all the preliminary, should I or shouldn't I, or what if's all over the place adding to your stress level.

An interesting observation I have made is that just doing it without any more concideration than that needed to decide whether to do it not only gets it done but does keep anxiety at bay. Thinking to much on or about a project beyond that needed to do it only brings on the anxiety that leads to panic in those of us prone to it. Just do it.

You don't drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there.

I felt this this morning, when I was reviewing my plans for the day.  During a couple of recent crises, I just acted, didn't plan or ruminate but took action...somewhere there is a balance and I think that is called discerning

Quote of the Day:
Failure does not count. If you accept this, you'll be successful. What causes most people to fail is that after one failure, they'll stop trying.

I don't like this quality in me, wishing to stop something so suddenly after a bad experience, but I'm willling to change...

Building on this, nothing gets done without a reason, even if it is the wrong reason.

Unfortunately the reasons to not do something usually outweigh the reasons to do it.
Back to perception again. Some times it is as simple as wanting to.

Quote of the Day:
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can.
- Willis Whitney

Building on Davit's comment, this states the value of changing perception

Every thing IS Perception. That is the whole point. The question is "what do you do with it"?

Quote of the Day:
Failure is an event, never a person.
- William D. Brown

It's hard to separate oneself from the things around us, but this has to be true, since our bodies are so resilient, as our minds must be too
