Hi Sonia,

I'm only a Yoga novice, so the postures I'm describing just mean I wouldn't slouch.  Maybe I've spent too many years dragging my chin along the ground

hugs4U,

Great quotes! They really remind us of how truly powerful our will can be.

Glad to learn that the yoga is keeping you limber and happy! I'm looking forward to hearing of all the new postures you'll learn next week!

What you have to do and the way you have to do it is incredibly simple. Whether you are willing to do it, that's another matter.

Confidence doesn't come out of nowhere. It's a result of something... hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication.

Hi Vincenza,
I've signed up for summer session of several classes.  To my surprise, I was more comfortable in poses where I didn't think I would be.  I always feel "odd" though since there are only two men in a class of 18 women and the instructor.

I was quite stiff, but my neck pain from a fall of a week ago has disappeared, and this is gives me some novelty in the midst of my weight training and walking/gardening.  I'd like to continue, but I don't know how to describe it to the instructor, but it's so mentally boring.  That's a small misgiving compared to the benefits of being stretched, learning new postures

There is no failure except in no longer trying. There is no defeat except from within, no insurmountable barrier except our own inherent weakness of purpose.

Hi Hugs,

I'm glad you enjoyed the yoga!  Will you continue with it?  Have you noticed any changes, big or small, in your mood after a class?

Confidence is courage at ease.
- Daniel Maher

Without risk, I find I can't succeed.  An example is that I registered for a yoga class, with many reservations, but found I felt well after, although I was sore.  If I had succumbed to all my reservations, I wouldn't have enjoyed the benefits.

Accept failure as a normal part of living. View it as part of the process of exploring your world; make a note of its lessons and move on.

When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.

If you really want something you can figure out how to make it happen.
- Cher

Maybe the obstacle sometimes is that there is a undesired goal which one pursues from a peer group, parents or marketing from media?
