Very Panicky Today

Hi Sunny! so nice to hear from you.

I just wrote Carmie back, I did not see you had wrote me, I must of been writing when you were posting so for a few minutes I missed it, it was so nice too see you wrote. Yes my dogs bring me comfort, they are very protective and they love me a lot. What kind of dog do you have? I use to have a  beautiful chocolate point persian cat but she died of old age, she lived to almost 24 yrs old and had a good life, but I miss her. Now with the dogs it would be hard to have a cat, my pit bull might not be happy, but one day I would like to get another cat, animals are wonderful, and great watch dogs and they keep me company.

I will think positive and try to enjoy the night. I am having some strong stomach cramps but trying not too dwell and ignore them, I taped "designing women" a few episodes to watch tonight, but for some reason, darn it, they did not tape, I was looking forward too that, they showed another show so it did not tape, but that happens I guess. I will catch it next time.

I will write back later, I am going to clean up the kitchen and lay down and say a rosary, thank you so much for you're prayers, I do need them tonight! I hope you and Davit are having a great weekend and enjoying the wood burning stove, looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for youre kind words and advice.

Hi D:  You know Carmie's right, you do say nice things and support others here on the forums.  Definitely something to put in the backpack.
Just a tip, something I used to do when my breathing got tight.  I'd sing, anything little ol' song I could think of.  It didn't matter if the words were all wrong, it was to open up those airways and a good way to get some deep breaths.  I used to sing in the car, that's when i got anxious sometimes.

Another idea I learned at the support group I went to was to write out affirmations for myself and tack them up where I could see them to remind myself of positive thinking and good self esteem. I put one on the mirror so I could see it first thing in the morning brushing my hair; one in the cupobard; one in my top drawer.  You get the idea.  I actually use one right now to log onto my computer.  It's a great way to remind myself of something I need to remember.

Hope you can enjoy your evening doing something you love.  You are lucky to have two beautiful dogs!  I used to have two dogs, just loved them.  Now I have one.  You could brush them tonight and treat them to a doggie massage.  They love it.  When I was alone watching tv or reading I would have one on each side of me.  What bliss for me.  So comforting.  When I went through an illness they were there for me.

Just some ideas,
thinking of you,
Sunny

Thank you for writing me Carmie.

I just ate a little. Some fishsticks which I know are NOT healthy but its all I really had here and I took my half of pill so hopefully the night will go by quickly, I was going to walk the dogs but my husband said not too, he is afraid I will lock myself out and have too sit outside till after midnight and it is dark probably not safe if no one is home if something happens while I walk, its really dark and gloomy out so its probably safer just too stay in, it seems like the night is just dragging on so slow.

I do have a good Nancy Drew but I am saving it for later, I was reading another book last night and I read real late and too long so my eyes are tired today and kind of hurting so I am giving them a rest from reading and TV, I might just lay down for a nap, sometimes that helps and makes the time go quicker, and I will try too fill that backpack with positive thoughts, I liked the way you put that, my stomach hurts a lot, my monthly is coming soon I think and the cramps are bad so maybe laying down is the best thing. I keep remembering you saying you were all alone and were very sick and got through it so that gave me hope, thank you, and for all the nice things you said, I think YOU are a nice person and a great mom and a great friend. thank you, I will write you back later and let you know how the night went, I ate badly but what can you do? positive thoughts!

Hi Debora,
Sometimes it's easier to think of good things to think about rather than to avoid negative things.  Does that make sense?  Davit once spoke about our backpacks and how we could fill them with positive thoughts.  Maybe you could write out some positive things to put in the backpack of yours.  Here are a couple of starters - you are a great friend to all of us in this community.  You always think of something kind to say to all of us.  You work really hard and you are a great mom and a great wife and a great person.  From there, I'm sure you can add lots more.
Do you have any Nancy Drew books around?  It might be a nice treat for yourself.  Don't forget to eat, rest, and smile.  I will take my own advice, too!
Take care,
Carmie

Thank You Vincenzia and Carmie,

My guys left about two hours ago and they will not be home till midnight or later! I am very nervous but I am going to try to get some cleaning done and eat something and maybe say a rosary and a nap. I wish I was strong enough to go with them but the large crowds and noise would not be good for me right now. I feel dizzy and weak and I think a lot of it is nerves. I have two big dogs, one a pit bull and one german shepard and an alarm system and good locks on the door, I am not afraid of outside things its more the "inner monster" does that make sense? I am afraid I will pass out or have a heart attack and I am all alone and who would help?? I know those are negative morbid thoughts and I must not think that way. I have to be more positive.

I do NOT want to fear being alone. I will somehow someway get through the night, thank you for you're support and prayers they mean so much too me. Please write me back.

Deb,
Vincenza's questions and good advice reminds me of a couple of weeks ago when I was alone and sick at home and scared.  I called a friend who said "You're alone at home?  Honey, you should embrace that!  Make yourself a cup of tea, fix yourself a bath, light some candles and enjoy!"  She gave me a new perspective on how to spend my day!  I took her advice and it was pretty nice (although my husband and son came home pretty much just after I drew the bath).  You deserve such a break, Debora!

Hi Deb,

Nice to hear from you again.  Hearing that you will be alone for most of the day today made me think - here is an opportunity where you have some peace and quiet to do whatever you wish to treat yourself today.

Spend time cooking or baking, read a good book, do your hair... we all have a list of things we'd love to do on a raining day..

What's on your list?

Hi Carmie,

Thanks for writing me. I am so glad you had a great couple of days! Wonderful news! I wish I could say the same. Its been like a war zone around my home and has made me very very nervous, body symptoms coming back. Its issues with my special-needs son, he has been really stubborn this week about doing what he should not do and its caused a lot of tension, my husbands BP was up and my anxiety and chest pain, we love our son very much and since he has special needs we have to be more understanding and patient probably than a normal parent, its hard but we adore and love him, he wants to be independent and that is good but sometimes he makes wrong choices, its a long story, I will tell you another time. I am just so glad you are feeling good and that was a beautiful story about you're friend and her baby, very inspiring, I never had panics when my son was a baby, thank God, at least that was one good thing, they came later but they came really bad.

I am going to be alone all day and most of the evening, they are going to a function so I am nervous about being alone so many hours but I have to get through it. I will write tommarow. Thank you SO much for youre prayers for my family!!

Debora,
Hi - it's been awhile.  I wanted to share that I had a great couple of days.  I am appreciating my health so much more.  I also wanted to share that my husband has challenges when it comes to my anxiety, too.  We had an argument the other night about it.  He just gets scared and doesn't know what to do.  I tend to keep to myself or talk with my daughter or friends when I need help.  As a result of my "dance with anxiety", I have learned that MANY of my friends have had anxiety and panic and it is so nice to know they understand.  One friend who was housebound for a time has made it very clear that I can call her anytime of day - she is such a good friend to have.  It's interesting because she experienced anxiety during a trying time in her life when she and her husband were trying to have a baby - with no results.  They traveled to Vietnam and adopted a son - and her life changed - almost instantly, her panic attacks went away - from the moment she met her son.  Within a few months, she became pregnant with her second son.  Anyway, just wanted to quickly say hi and share this nice story.  I will pray for peace in your family!

Thank you Red,

It was a better day with hubby but not with son he wants to do something that we do not want him to do and he really put up a fight, so it was a tense night, I got very nervous and my husband got angry. I am praying for peace within my family, I think it would go a long way towards my recovery, it would not hurt anyway. I hope you are doing better please let me know.
