Prozac, Night Sweats & Anxiety Surges

13 years ago 0 44 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Everyone,

Thank you for responding. I talked to my doctor, and she told me to exercise more throughout the day and take it as soon as I get up. Prozac gives me energy, so I find that if I take my dose later in the morning (around 9:30am) I find that it can give me the night sweats and anxiety. Also, I am trying to avoid eating anything sweet before bed, no chocolate, etc. I think that doesn't help either!

Hi Queens06:  A few years back I was taking Paxil and had those sweats every now and then, not so much the anxiety surges though.  I took it in the morning.  I did not have sweats at night.  For me, when I stopped taking it the sweats went away.  They weren't that bad that they ruined my day, just a bit annoying at times.  Wonder if it is something like what you are going through.  As Tiana says, mention it to your doc. and see what he/she says.

Good luck,
Your friend,
Sunny

Hi Queens.06,

It's good to hear that you are noticing an improvement in your anxiety; however, side effects of medications do not always fade away. If you are experiencing side effects that bother you or worsen, please ask your doctor specifically about those.

Hello,

I have been on 10mg of prozac for about 5 1/2 weeks and have seen improvement with my anxiety. I am however, at times experiencing night sweats, and anxiety surges that are keeping me up at night. My doctor suggest that I take the meds as soon as I get up in the morning. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Will this pass? (I'm hoping....) It's nice to know that you are not alone...
