Hi April & Autumn

Welcome.  I am no stranger to anxiety either and although I've had it for many years only stumbled upon this site this year when I had a "setback".. It has been a godsend.  I haven't really done the program but I find having somewhere to post my thoughts and hear from others who can relate to be very helpful.

I have a bit of OCD too so I'm always looking for new coping skills.

Howdy Autumn and April,

Kinda funny, you both have A's in your name and started one right after the other.  Anywho, I'm new to this site too, but not new to anxiety, so hope we all have a far-out time discovering our new world!

Cheers,
Joe

Hello Autumn,
Welcome to this site and forum! I hope you find a lot of the answers you are looking for here as how I did. I was never the type to worry as a child but got anxiety after specific life changing experiences. My sister on the other hand was always the worrying type as when she was a child which led her to her anxiety. Maybe you had some traumatic or life changing events in your life as a child? After having my anxiety attacks, I've become extremely afraid of death and diseases... I still am but have over came it a lot after these past 6 months. I think it had a lot to do with imbalances in my body and life style. It took long months to make me feel hopeful again, but never give up is my word of advice. I was crying about everything when I was really depressed but now I see how much I've progressed. I can actually believe that life is getting better now. So welcome to this site, you're doing a great job by just starting here too.

Hello Autumn,

The program here is great. It is CBT and very good for helping people with anxiety and panic. Also, the forums are full of great people. So please take advantage of both. Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing your story with us.

Good Evening Autumn,   Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.     Faryal, Health Educator

Hi, I'm Autumn.
I have a really hard time with anxiety and need some support getting through the day.  I just returned to work and it is very important that I maintain control over my anxiety since I must rely on myself for all financial needs.
I have identified my main problem which is focusing on every pain in my body. It's like I am ultra sensitive. I have an extreme fear of dying, or just getting sick, specifically cancer.  I know that sounds really crazy, but I continually go to the doctor, sometimes twice a week.
My anxiety levels are so high that my attacks can't be handled without xanax.  I have really tried to manage them without meds, but the fear gets so intense that I start crying.

I recognize I am in some sort of cycle, but I can't seem to pull myself out of it.  This has been going on for about six months and I have tried several different meds.
Other than this anxiety, my job is going well, I am active, and I do not have anything I can point to that could be making me have such high levels of anxiety.
I do know that I have had anxiety attacks even when I was little, maybe starting at age 10.

Anyone have any advise?

Thanks to everyone for their welcoming words, it's great being able to go on here and read others experiences and not feel so alone!!!  I was having a rough day yesterday and it helped to log everything I was feeling on the tracking sheet!
