Struggling

Sammy:

Yes, yes it is a fight and you are winning.  I know sometimes it feels like the mountain is way to high to climb.  But it is not really so, if you climb it step by (painful) step.  Just don't look up and don't look down, straight ahead is the way.

Don't forget to mark your success's with a reward of some kind.  It does not have to be large, it merely means to be a mark of appreciation for work done well...

stay well

Yay, Sammy! So glad you made it over that 3 week line. It should get easier from here.

And congratulations, VIV. I'm sure you will pass through that 3 week mark, as well.

Thanks Si02,

I am doing a lot better now, my thoughts of smoking don't seem to hang around for long either. I guess I just needed to get over
that hump that I haven't made it over. I am starting to feel better and have a lot more energy as well. Now that I haven't smoked
in 3 weeks I couldn't imagine doing it now.
The main that has helped me in the past week has been the customers in the drug store that I work at, they come in and are wheezing
and just smell horrible (like smoke) and I just think that could be me if I kept smoking.
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hey Donna!!!

Way to go!!!  18 days and you're still kicking that nico-demon's ash!!!

Keep remembering to use positive self talk when those negative thoughts enter your mind!  You can talk yourself right out of a bad day or a bad crave with just a few deep breaths and positive thoughts!  The bottom line in all of this is that you really DO want this quit more than anything else in the whole world!

Keep your eyes on the prize... Freedom is sooo worth it!

Thanks guys I made it through yesterday and last night. I will not smoke, I am determined to keep this quit. I was also very
glad to go to work yesterday. Now that's one thing I never say on a Monday.
Yes I do also think because I have never made it past the 3 week that it is playing on my mind. One day at a time I will make it.
I also talked with hubby last night, which also really helped. He is my biggest supporter and he has just started a new job out
of town. I will be going to join him but not for a couple months.

Thanks again!!

You can do it! Think about how you can tell people "I USED to smoke"! Also, the struggle means it's worth it.

Dear Sammy,

One of my feared dates was three weeks.  Like yourself, I had not made it past that point in some of my quits.

"I am more than willing to take anything."   You only really need to take heart and strength from what you have achieved, and pull on your armour to get through the next few days.  Working On It is right.....just work on each day in short chunks, and you will succeed.  Remember, it's your addiction talking and it is trying to make you weaken.  Talk to your determination instead, and look forward to when you will have passed the dreaded three week point.  You will be so pleased and proud of yourself!

Never Look Back!  The Future is Ahead!

Love Lolly.
