Hey Kir0395!!!
One of the site's greatest quitters never really intended to quit smoking, but he has one helluva great quit going on!!! Way to go, Bear!!!
Anyways, this quitting thing is taking it one day at a time! Look at you... 2 1/2 days into it already... another couple of days, and guess what? The physically addicting nicotine will be out of your system!!! Then, all you really have to contend with is the mental battle against our common foe.... the nico-demon!!! The question is... are YOU strong enough to beat that nico-demon the resides in your brain???
Want help??? Go through all of the milestones in "MY PROGRAM", the button on the top left!!! That will lay the ground work to become a successful quitter!!! You will also find the answers there, and here in the forum threads to the questions you asked below!! Preparation is always a key part of defeating 'ol nic!!!
Next, NOPE!! Our mantra.... Not One Puff Ever!!! That's how we do it here... Another thing is to distract yourself... try to avoid your "triggers" as much as possible!! I used this site as a distraction... it kept my fingers and mind busy and by being here, I began to learn more and more about this addiction and ways to cope with cravings. There is a wealth of information in these forums... and knowledge is power! The more "power" you have, the easier it will be to win those battles against the nico-demon!!! Oh, and by being here, you get to meet some of the best quit buddies you will ever have!!!
So, read and learn!! Ban smoking from the house, clean and hide the ashtrays and either crush that fresh pack you have or give it away to someone!!! You really don't need them anymore, do you? If you want to quit smoking more than you want to smoke, you WILL!!! It's just that easy and the only way it can be done!!!
We'll be here for you when you need us!!!
Jim
