I had my first non-smoking dream!

17 years ago 0 18 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I have only been quit for just about two weeks and I am having smoking and non smoking dreams. Is that normal? I also love dogs too. I don't have any, my husband is a cat person. We just got done dog sitting for a friend for the past month and it was hard to let them go. I even cried and had one of the biggest cravings yet, but I just grabbed a couple ounces of ice cream and just ignored it. We are going to get a puppy when he gets back from deployment. I can't wait. Back to the dream, I am glad you and your body are in sync. I am still waiting. I still really miss smoking and I look longingly at smokers but I also smell them too. lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 220 Amount Saved: $33.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 38 Seconds: 42

Hi freebird! Congratulations!!! By the way- I'm off to the dentist tomorrow o have all the gunk cleaned off. I had the front of my teath done the day I quit (I actually threw away my pack of cigarettes in the dentist's garbage bin). Tmorrow is the "intensive cleaning day". Hip hip hurray!!!! (Although the black tea and coffee I drink will re-stain them...) And yes- smile at strangers! people are so utterly grumpy in the streets! :-) Cat My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 22 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 374 Amount Saved: 86.02 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 12 Seconds: 31

Freebird, Your subconscious mind is catching up to your conscious mind. Your body has really accepted that you are a non-smoker and you're picturing yourself as a non-smoker. What a huge step! Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

You know, I never really was a dog person until I met Ruby. Saying that, I didn't dislike dogs but, if pushed, I would have said I preferred cats. The first time I met Ruby she jumped up so high, she was able to lick me on my mouth ... bluurrgh (it's a staffie thing). She is so joyful and loves nothing more than a stick or a ball - if only people were so un-self conscious and accepting. It looks like your dog enjoys her toys too! You might laugh at me but The Dog Whisperer is one of my favourite tv programmes. I think Cesar Milan rocks! And I have used his technique of "calm assertive energy" in my quit. It sounds a bit weird but when I get to that nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh stage when you feel like you're going mad, I just take some deep breaths and think calm assertive energy. Hmmm, I do sound mad. Anyway, it works for me. Enjoy your day - I am off to the dentist (blurgh again). Then I am going to treat myself to some me time. It is a beautiful sunny day here in NZ, I live near the beach and I am going to sit on the white sands and watch the waves for a while. Thanks Freebird. The one in front is mine and she is a Golden Retriever. The other dog is a friend who was over for a playdate. She's a lab. Aren't dogs the sweetest animals? I love mine to death. And she too loves it that I don't smoke. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 108 Amount Saved: $36.72 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 26 Seconds: 16

I love your dogs One More Try. Are they golden retrievers? They look beautiful and happy. We have an English Staffordshire terrier called Ruby - she is the most joyous dog I have ever known. She loves that I don't smoke!
