something to worry about?

Hi Boldinaz, That is normal, your lungs needs to get clean and that is why some people cough the first few weeks. For now, don't worry and if it lasts longer than a month go see a doctor. Hugs from Holland :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 497 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,910 Amount Saved: 2,348.33 Life Gained: Days: 70 Hrs: 1 Mins: 58 Seconds: 56

Hi Boldinaz, I felt the exact same way. I had this tightness feeling in my chest at it was very bodersome. I was very worried with my condition...i started to think i was having a heart attack. I even remember saying that i felt better when i was smoking :). I'm looking at your stats and i can say that it's was around the same time as you that i felt that tightness. I had it for a few days...then it left...then it came back again... I did'nt go see a dorctor but i talked to a nurse and she said that it could be some thorax spasmes. Muscles around your thorax tightning when your going threw stressful times ( maybe the anxiety of quitting smoking). So i just tried to relax more... Take good deep breath. I don't have that feeling of thightness anymore. If i remember right, that feeling stopped for about 2 weeks now (i'm on my 6 week now.) I don't think it's something to worry about...but if you want to be sure you can always go visite your doctor. Hi Boldinaz, i coughed for the first 17 days, hard, i think its a way of our body getting rid of tozins and junk, but if if is really bothersome to you, maybe you should see a doctor. Our bodies do so many crazy things in the quit, its hard to know what normal and whats not :) good you are quitting at a young age :) Keep up the good quit Tresa :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1828 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 36,560 Amount Saved: $6,398.00 Life Gained: Days: 257 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 50
