Thanks little J's mom.. I am feeling better lately, still not sleeping and pretty emotional, but i am not as bothered by it, it seems. I am trying to just enjoy the fact that I am still smoke free. Making moving plans and looking forward to the upcoming warmer weather, then maybe I can work on tiring myself out more from all the fresh air. I'm getting to this thread a little late and I hope things are evening out a bit for you now. I had heard of the 30 day pit but it seemed absurd to me since I was doing so well the week prior to that and then BAM! hit me out of the blue.. cravings, depression, inability to sleep, weeping. But, I'm happy to say it went away after a week and now I'm day 45 and can't even remember what that felt like. Good morning members, A lot of you in this thread are having trouble sleeping. Here are a few tips that I hope will help you get back into a regular sleeping pattern: �Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that you�ll begin to feel better. �Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. �Use your bed only for sleeping. Don�t lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. �If you can�t sleep after half an hour in bed don�t stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still can�t sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. �Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. �Try to get some exercise every day. You�ll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. �Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel �wired�. �Don�t drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. �Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Don�t eat just before you go to bed. �If you�re not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. �Use relaxation techniques. Deep breathing may help you relax at bed time. * Dim the lights 1/2 hour to 1 hour before bedtime. This helps your body clue in that it's time to go to sleep. Sweet dreams! Whynot, I can understand the not sleeping it is crazy and when I finally get to sleep I have this stupid dreams that make no sense or are about smokes. After a few nights of not sleeping well the emotions are bound to kick in. I was so exhausted on Friday of last week that I almost started crying at my desk. I was finding so hard to keep it together. Its crazy the things we are going through but it will be so worth it in the end. Take care Stay Smoke Free Jersy :)

Thanks penguin and Todash......somehow I completely forgot about the 30 day slump... I have not been craving for some time....I am having a motivation problem, but thats under control.....I can't let Hubby win, right :)LOL HAHAHA But when I go see the doc on the 4th I am going to talk to him about this quit. I remember it was really tough around 30 days and emotions have been a wicked PITA to deal with even now but it does get better, I promise :) Hang in there and do see your doc if you need to. Ahhhh. The 30 day pit!! You've heard of it? No Energy, no motivation, very emotional. UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN. This may last for a few days to a week or so. Many people have sleep disturbances. It will get better. Ask you Dr. about it if it is a real concern. You are both doing great. One day at a time. You will come out on the other side. Oh yes, Changing. I have been on meds before for depression. And, thanks to some help and advice from friends here and from my family, I have agreed to go back to see the doctor. I was dead set against medication again, after almost 6 years free of it, but I have realized that it's OK to get the extra help. So I have an appointment on Apr. 4. I guess we will see.... Hopefully, between now and then, we will both be doing better. Thanks Phil....you are always there to let us know it will get better.
